It's that time of year. No matter what has happened up to this point, it's now or never time in college basketball. Everybody knows it, down to the last fan. Coaches, players and officials certainly know it. The good refs will let the players decide games, make less iffy calls. The poor officials will continue to blow their whistles when they think that something might have happened, even though they really didn't see anything. We can only hope that we get a majority of the better refs in Reno. We probably wont, but we can hope.

The players have to forget about being well rested. They will just have to gut it out. They can rest all summer and fall. We can lament all we want about having a short rotation, but all the whining in the world won't change a thing.

At this point in the season, everyone has seen everything that the rest of the league has to offer. There won't be many surprises. It will come down to execution and tenacity. There are four or five teams that could get hot and win it. It will be interesting.

I have too many prior commitments to make it to Reno for our first games. I may try to make it if we are in the final game. Here's hoping. :thumb: :thumb:

Lets go surprise some people, we are obviously not the best team in the Sky, but that doesn't mean we can't win this thing.

We are most likely going to play Northern Colorado in the 2nd round which will be a huge hurtle for us. Yes we beat them twice in the regular season but both games practically took miracles to do so.

I don't like bye's, I never have, for any sport. We do get two extra days of rest, but we could also get two extra days of rust. Things are just going to have to play themselves out. Weber can win this tournament, thought it is not likely.

I'm also conflicted on other post season tournaments, Normally I'd be all for any post season we could get as it gives our younger players a little more experience, however if our team is really that tired and shorthanded than maybe we should call it if we leave Reno early. But that's up to Rahe and the boys.

Tournament starts Tuesday for the men.

I disagree about the choosing to not play in a lesser tournament thing. Our younger players need to get that sort of experience, the more the better. They're young, it shouldn't matter if they are tired. They will have a long time to recover. If they have any aspirations to play at the next level, they will have to learn to play in far longer seasons and travel more. :coffee:

Will Bliznyuk become the conference's all-time leading scorer? Is currently 3rd with 2,060 and is averaging 22.2 in conference play. Needs 43 to pass Lightfoot's 2,102. Needs 18 to pass Senglin's 2,078. With the way the Eagles are playing, I could see him getting three more games.

Scored 35 last night to pass Senglin. Needs 7 to become the all-time leader.

We better not be playing in any CBI or CIT games this year. This team needs to be done playing, I cant handle seeing another disgrace effort by Rahe. I feel for the kids, as they are not able to reach potential due to horrible coaching. It seems that the new bar is not making the NCAA dance, but getting to the CIT. Anything more than the CIT to Rahe, is considered a success.

Pretty sure some kids would die if we played more games. Richardson and Harding played 43 min in our overtime game. That is way too much.
