One of the greatest Weber State sports fans passed away on March 9. If you knew Paul, he was an incredible guy. One of the most positive and fun loving guys I've ever met. He was always up for a conversation; especially if it was about Weber State sports. He passed away after an 8 year battle with cancer, but even during that battle he was at every single Wildcat game he could make it to. He fought every day for those he loved the most. He survived for others and that in the end is his legacy.
From what I have observed over the years, I believe his favorite sport was football. I am really glad that he was able to watch the Wildcat's victory over Montana last December to see our Cats go to the semifinals and end up ranked the highest ever in program history. He absolutely loved it! And feel his tribute would best be preserved in this forum.
It'll be really weird not seeing him at games and seeing him talking to everybody around him. It took him almost an hour just to get to his seat because he had so many people he needed to catch up with. Everyone was his friend. The section in the east stands, where he would sit, is going to be a little quieter next year. It'll be missing its biggest fan and there will definitely be a hole. You know athletics tend to be silly in the eternal scope of things. We have them to entertain us, but because of sports we gain so much. We learn so much from playing sports. How to be responsible, determined, and hard-working. They build community, togetherness, and pride in what we've built. Its from sport that we get to create and build relationships that ultimately last a lifetime. Paul was the ultimate example of this. I'm going to miss him cheering at games, his positive demeanor and love for life. I'm going to miss my friend.
Rest in Peace Born2BleedPurpleGuy!! Thank you for your love of everything Purple and White and for being my friend.

Regrettably I never had the privilege of meeting him, but from reading his posts & now the input of the sad news on this thread, he certainly has impressed as a positive influence as a friend & a avid #1 Weber State fan who bled purple thru thick & thin. SALUTE ! RIP.
Thanks for the update & kind words Tal.

Never had the privilege of meeting him either, but from reading about him I’m extremely impressed. To battle cancer for 8 years while continuing to be such a positive force speaks volumes! I am sure he is at peace and pain free. He will be greatly missed by family and friends to be sure.

Sorry to hear this. It's hard to loose the really good ones and it sounds like he was.
