The Portland State Vikings Football Program has completed its football signing class for 2024 with the addition of nine players on National Letter of Intent Day. PSU signed 18 in December's early signing period for a total class of 27 student-athletes.

Among the 27 signees are 22 freshmen, three portal transfers and two junior college transfers. Thirteen are offensive players, 11 are defensive players, two are "athletes" whose positions will be determined and one is a punter. The position groups are also very balanced with four linemen, four wide receivers, two quarterbacks, two running backs and a tight end on offense; and three defensive linemen, three linebackers and five defensive backs on defense.

"The thing you will notice about this class, just like the great one we signed in 2023, is they are all physical players with excellent speed," said Viking Coach Bruce Barnum. "We have an outstanding group of high school athletes with a few transfers sprinkled in.

"I'm really happy we were able to follow last year's group with such a quality class. These guys are the same caliber student-athlete. Now it's our turn to develop them."

"I want to commend (wide receivers coach) Bryant Thomas, who has taken over as recruiting coordinator, and done an excellent job. The entire staff had a hand in the process and allowed us to bring this group together."
