FWIW I heard he treated some folks pretty crappy while he was here, but my info is all 3rd and 4th hand so take it with a grain of salt. I take this ESPN story to be more about Stanford getting it's litigation lined up to fire Troy with cause after another failed season which would get them off the hook of paying out the entirety of the contract.

This ESPN story also puts the move to poach Andy into perspective. Taylor needed someone on his side to combat the pending axe falling in his direction and cover his back on these allegations. Shrewd move. Regardless, with Stanford's AD out I'm not seeing how Troy survives past this upcoming season. The grass isn't always greener, I hope the money was worth it.
 
The grass is not always greener, but no coach would stay at Sac State for the money Stanford is paying. Reminds me of when Mike Montgomery left Stanford to coach the Golden State Warriors. Life changing pay increase, but he was much better suited to be a college coach. Also not sure Andy was poached. I thin Wood wanted to make his own hire and Andy was provided a graceful exit.

I agree with you - the anonymous quote describing TT as an “Equal Opportunity Asshole” is the perfect encapsulation of how I’ve head be is behind closed doors. Those kinds of guys win football games though, and players usually support for their honesty.

I only met Troy a couple times briefly and I find this bully stuff really hard to believe. He’s a really nice guy, that seems to love his players, strong motivator and great witn x & o’s. Him being called “an asshole”, for a HC FBS, you kinda have to be an ass to survive. Unfortunately for him, the winning didn’t come soon enough. He definitely can coach at FBS in right program but probably will go FCS first you have to believe. He should sue Stanford because this news getting out has really impacted his image which is important for employment.
