The PAC/MWC Dominoes Begin to Fall

Yep would love to hear his take on Gaucho football hear on the football forum. We can talk about your greatest football player ever. David Chapple. He was your only pro bowler right? The punter?

Nah. Our best football player is Johnny Morris, who led the NFL in 1964 with 1200 receiving yards and is STILL the Chicago Bears all-time leader in career receiving yards after his last catch nearly six decades ago. He was also a pro bowler. I think UCSB has produced three of those

Huh, I thought it was tomorrow. Don't see anything out yet - also don't expect it to go our way.

So someone is reaching out to a Georgia Tech fan with no social media base for PR purposes.

Man. Are you on that good Humboldt stuff? Can I have some?

Been watching his account for awhile. Dr. Wood has also been a follower for awhile. Some dots can be connected to several sources amd media if one cares to.

For those that are interested, there's the tweet.

I am wondering on the whole invitation thing. Seeing a lot of posts crowning Tx State as the new member. I think there are major hurdles with that. TX board of Regents has to approve an acceptance before June 30th, no meeting scheduled. Sun Belt exit fee goes from $5 to $10 million on 7/1. Lastly, I think everyone knows that since all other schools have essentially passed, they hold all the cards. I do think that they are playing hardball in negotiations, like full share plus first 5 years, travel cost cession, bonus for getting to playoff, etc. PAC still not settled the lawsuit so they do not know how much $$$ they will actually have so they cannot negotiate extra if it does not exist. I think the recent mention of us at Football only is really a negotiation gambit to get movement from Tx State. I do think PAC has already met internally and if no deal on 6/30 by like 10 am ish, they might offer football only to garner the necessary 8, with the deal being offered at 1/4 share of TV revenue or something like that. I don’t think they go past 6/30 without the minimum 8 qualifying. Probably off base but just thinking about angles and positioning, both sides then get what they want, both are using each other to get their end goal.

I think there is something to that. TX State is running out the clock to force the PAC's hand. Sac State is on the back end saying you can have us for cheap. Leaked stories about Sac State or a bombshell school in order to push back on Tx State.

It is unlikely Sac gets the call, unless TX State overplays their hand. But there are definitely negotiations being done through the media.
