@ Montana St.

Thankks SE for that vid...good stuff. Their 17-0 win was unimpresive. Doesnt matter if they controlled game. A couple of fluke plays and it's game on. Bet Vigin not happy and MSU comes out hard...very hard. Maybe it's just me but some of our players showing some serious attitude and rubbing off on others and that's a good thing!

I'm not ignoring it, but SDSU doesn't look nearly as good this year as they have in the past. MSU might be very good, maybe even the best team in the conference, but I think the verdict is still out on just how good they are. I'm basing that opinion off of their two wins, which in my opinion are somewhat unimpressive. I understand that you can only play who's on your schedule, but a 17-0 W over a Patriot League at home raises some eyebrows.
Holding a team to 0 points raises eyebrows? You don't really get anything for style points, you just need to score more than the other team. Did you even watch the game or you just looking at the score?

SDSU is currently 3-0 and ranked #2. Montana State is ranked #4 and their only losses are to #2 SDSU in OT and Oregon that is ranked #6 in the FBS. You think 1-4 unranked Eastern has a shot at beating them next week in Bozeman cause Montana State only scored 17 points in their last game and Eastern did decent against a shitty W. Illinois. Man, I want what you're smoking. Montana State could be overrated and could be mid and Eastern will still lose.

Currently 1-3, don't get a head of yourself! I caught myself doing the same thing. ;)

I did watch the game. MSU looks to be very good defensively, maybe the best defense we're going to see all year and even up to this point. Holding a team to 263 yards of offense and zero points is nothing to scoff at, regardless of the opponent. I'm just saying that this could be a more competitive game than people think if we continue to put things together on offense. There's plenty to work on as the season progresses, but we're just a couple of plays away from being 3-1 right now instead of 1-3, and getting that much needed home win could give these guys the confidence to go out and be competitive with the best teams in the conference. Just my opinion.

Man, you're in for a wake up call next week. Western Illinois went 4-8 last season, Montana State went to the National Championship and lost by 3 points.

That actually matters very little. We won the National Championship in 2010 and then went 6-5 the next year. We went again to the NC in 2018 and then went 7-5. You can say that MSU is a more consistent program right now, but we were a very consistent program back then as well. We sucked even worse last year than we do now and still could have won the MSU game.

Like I said even if Montana State is a mid 7 or 6 win team we still lose cause we are a 4 win team. Have been for several years now.

No we are not in fact better this year than last. You need to get out of your head the idea that we had one good game against a bad team at home that Eastern can compete with the best of the FCS. There is no evidence to think Eastern is better than last year.

The offense is significantly worse. Nate Bell has thrown more INTs than TDs, 4 to 2. We lost our NFL caliber receiver, Efton Chism. Most of the receivers are dropping passes or can't even get open. We lost our QB that could accurately throw downfield to Tennessee Tech, which is doing amazing btw. We don't have a all senior laden offensive line like last year. Our staring QB and RB are injured and they weren't that great to begin with. We lost our OC that had actual play calling experience unlike our current one.

The defense may be marginally better especially the front 7 is able to stop the run more but is still ranked 117th in total defense in the FCS. We lost our all conference safety to Boise State. Two would be senior DBs straight up quit the team.

We could have beat Montana State last year? We could've beat a lot of teams last year but we didn't. Good teams win games. What could have happened doesn't put a +1 in the W column. There are no moral victories.

Last time Eastern played in Bozeman in 2023, Montana State was ranked #5 and we lost 14-57. Its probably going to be about the same. Maybe a little less worse. Eastern hasn't won a game in the state of Montana, either MSU or Montana since 2018.
