Bring Back Troy

People have some serious issues surrounding race and are conflating and speculating things about this hire to fit that narrative.

Most qualified is subjective and with you citing all the facts about Taylor's qualifications, then there are plenty of schools that have skipped over him for a less qualified candidate. That's what you're not squaring. What makes anyone entitled to this job?

I'm not going to get down into the details about race stuff on a football board and give anymore credibility to this. You want to have a private conversation about race, you can dm me.
Talk about conflating and speculating…you have no idea how many programs have reached out to Troy and/or his agent. He never has to work/coach again so he can afford to be extremely selective. He is uniquely qualified for this job (not entitled) and
for obvious reasons it was a very attractive situation for him. That’s what I’m squaring.

Look, we all wanted Taylor but he comes with baggage. The staff abuse allegations and his ongoing lawsuit with ESPN, who is the broadcasting rights holder for most if not all of the FBS conference Dr. Wood is trying to get an invite from, are being glossed over by a lot of folks here.

TT was my preference for the job. You'll have to find another topic to attack me on.

Nobody is attacking you, Sunshine. Just pointing out the fallacies in your posts…which isn’t too difficult. Try a couple of Midol and go sit in your safe place.
I didn't say TT thinks he's entitled. I also didn't say he was unqualified. So no need to defend him unless you're looking for excuses to jump in.

And if ESPN is libelous and in the wrong they should pay financially for their incorrect reporting and slandering.

So your saying since the candyman is giving us candy, we should let them off the hook for being a pedo?

Alonzo Carter was Assistant Head coach at SJSU and Arizona. Meaning, a head coach in training. Brent Brennan brought Zo along with him from SJSU for a reason. Mind you, Brent Brennan was a position coach until he was a head coach too. Nobody questioning that.

Zo has stayed in one location at every stop longer than Marion has stayed at any one stop. He has more head coaching experience than Marion had when he took the job.

Carter is known for being a great recruiter and that Assistant head coach is a higher position than a coordinator in the chain of command. So it's not like Zo is not qualified. He has to just fill the gaps in his weaknesses, just like any head coach hire.

The irony here is people don't want Carter to get this position and are citing things based on his race as the justification, while claiming racism against TT. No one in any position to make the actual coaching hire has publicly said TT is out because of his race, or we have to have Zo because of his.

Also, HBCU's do not exclude people based on race. Any one can attend. They were created because Black people were excluded from colleges. Every organization that is being created or promoted on campus by Wood does not exclude anyone. Anyone can join any of them.

As far as coaching hire, Zo does not move the needle for me, but damn ...no need to create some big conspiracy.
The Assistant HC is sometimes an honorary position. Most successful HCs were previously proven OC or DC. A highly successful position coach would quickly become a coordinator. Davis hired a Cal long-time position coach (Ron Gould) as HC, great guy but poor HC.

Look deeper down the list of who the AD has hired the past few years.

Any coach who lists his biggest accomplishments as being a lightening rod for identifying as a social justice warrior and is hired by said social justice warrior president of a woke state school is not making a decision based on merit, proven ability and results, it is not non-biased employment.

Look, no need to panic.

No FBS.

No Football Conference.

No Full 2026 schedule.

No Rivalry Game.

But, we have our coach.

I didn't bother reading up on the details of his case but defamation suits have a high bar so Troy's lawyers will have their work cut out for them.

Not sure where you are going with your candyman parody. Are you implying we should hire Troy back regardless of the baggage he brings because of his past success?

I don’t need an excuse to jump in. I actually bring viable information to the site instead of your whiny speculation and bullshit.

People who have to constantly tell everyone how important they are and have to put other people down have negative psychological terms named after them.
