NAU/NCO

It’s always fun to watch games with Mitch Stroman on the call. Wildcats answered some runs by NAU. Still have dropped too many close games to get too excited. Northern Colorado will be a good test. If they can scrap and compete in Greeley, that will show some improvement.

We are winning more of the close games this year than we did last year, but yes, this team needs to finish better. Last night was a better finish, but against a lesser team. I don't think that this year's team has met their full potential yet. We have had fewer injuries this year and that has helped. I do like that most of the bench has played more minutes so far. Three of the freshmen are still getting minutes. That can only help, come March.

My initial impression was that the game was called verry one sided by the officials at NAU. We won going away, so I wasn't really sure about it. I re-watched the game and tried to not look at it with purple tinted glasses. On my second go on it, I decided that it was no different than any other BSC road game. There were some home team calls, but not more than usual. However, my second opinion was that it was just a poorly called game for everybody. The officiating crew did not have their best day. It's a hard game to call and the most experienced refs won't do games in Flagstaff. That's just how it is on the road, in the smaller towns, in the BSC. Winning on the road in the BSC is a total crap shoot.
