#19 McNeese State @ Weber State

Prediction time. I feel like our season is just beginning... And unfortunately has a chance to end just as fast (Man I hate starting the season 0-2). Weber's back is completely against the wall. If we start 0-4 Bovee is gonna start a new coach search (I have no official information on this, just thinking). If Hoke stays healthy I think our offense is going to do really well. I'm worried about our D. But if Morales and Pletcher are healthy and playing I think we have a really good shot to stop the run most of the time. Hopefully we can control the ball and clock well. One of the positives we can take away from the two FBS games is that we had the ball for more time than the other team in both games. Since McNeese is huge on the run, if we control the ball more we win. Tuckett and Booker have their way.

Weber State 34 -- McNeese State 24
Attendance: 8,691

Holy cow that was the most ridiculous 3 play exchange I've ever seen. McNeese fumble near midfield, turnover. Weber pick at the 10. McNeese 90 yard TD on the end-around. :wtf:    :notworthy:

I know its not the most popular thing to be said but after the first 3 games I think we need to put Jordan in and pull hoke. not impressed at all with his performance in 3 games. looks very uneasy in tim pocket and Jordan has lead 2 drives (in garbage time yes) but 2 none the less.

Our O-line sucked too. Hoke was pressured all night. Mcneese's QB had plenty of time to find an open man.

My kids still had a good time and went to bed in their blackout shirts.

O-line was bad. But there were at least 3 or 4 plays where Hoke just held on to that ball for soo long. Very frustrating. McNeese deserves credit though. One hell of a team.

So when the O-line sucks run some easy pass plays, wide receiver screens, quick passes, screen passes (1 all game), and get the QB out of the pocket on some bootleg passes.

We have a senior QB acting like he is going through a sophmore slump. He isn't on the same page with his receivers, every long attempt has been well overthrown.

Game Day was great until the first unsportmanlike penalty and then it went downhill.

And as usual, the play calling on offense was BRUTAL! But that has sucked ever since Matthew S. Homer took over as OC. :dunce:

We can pass, too.

Doc

McNeese State torched Weber State for nearly 600 yards of offense
McNeese State quarterback Cody Stroud completed 20 of 27 passes for 256 yards...

Once again another year our pass defense sucks. :wall:

Congrats on the win, you kicked us around pretty bad tonight.

I told you guys we could pass. We just didn't need to in our first two games.

I had a nice trip out and thoroughly enjoyed the area.

I'll have some pictures up tomorrow sometime.

Doc

Here is a photo gallery. Could not secure a sideline media pass so did the best I could roaming the spectator areas. http://www.flickr.com/photos/focusmarkfocus/sets/72157631553789196/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Took a look at Hoke's stats: 22 of 45 for 160 yards and 2 ints last 2 games. That's just not good no matter who the competition is. Don't know if it's the type of pass play that was called - I agree that play calling has been **** (fill in the blank with a word that means very bad) - but Hoke just hasn't looked all that good on pass plays that have been called. That's got to change in the EWU game.

We have played two fbs and a ranked fcs and we are 0-3. I was thinking we would be lucky as fans to see a 1-2 record at this point. Now EWU who is top 10 I think.

I have no comments on what we could have done better in those three games. I dont blame the O or D. The 3 head coaches in the last 9 months ain't help'n.

The offensive play calling was atrocious. 3rd and 19 and we run play action pass and get Hoke creamed. How many teams are going to bite on the run fake when its 3rd and forever?

Additionally, this looks like an extremely undisciplined team. So many really stupid penalties and lack of concentration. Secondary looked in disarray all game. Safeties were out of position all night long. No containment on the dline either.

I feel for the players. Its tough to lose a players coach like McBride and then deal with Lucifer running the team for a month or so. But we should be better than this. I like what I hear from Coach Sears off the field, but on the field something must change.
