2008 Football Schedule

JD Quinn went and got arrested for duii once again and given their off the field issues of last year, I wouldn't be surprised if he was to be gone from the team.

Big hit to the UM oline for this coming season.

UM's has few weapons on offense this year, they won't be as good at RB this year as last.

I think we're all happy to hear about UM losing talented players. Maybe somebody can give them a run for their money... We all knew they were taking a big chance bringing in Quinn, and the two DUIs prove they made the wrong decision.

Two Football Game Times Changed For This Fall

http://www.goviks.com/ViewArticle.dbml?temp_site=NO&DB_OEM_ID=19300&ATCLID=1523067

Two Portland State football games have had kickoff times changed for the 2008 season. The Vikings' opener against Western Oregon on Aug. 30 at PGE Park will now kick off at 1:05 p.m. The Vikings' second game at UC Davis on Sept. 13 will now kick off at 7:05 p.m.

The change of time on the home opener now gives Portland State consistency in its kickoff times throughout the season. All five home games will now start at 1:05 p.m. (Aug. 30, WOU; Oct. 4, Eastern Washington; Oct. 25, Idaho State; Nov. 8, Montana; Nov. 22, Northern Colorado).

The change of time on the UC Davis game is to accommodate television in the Davis, CA area. Originally, the game was scheduled for a 6:05 p.m. start.

An announcement on televised Portland State football games is yet to come.

what's the chance that the western oregon game will be on csn?

Pretty slim I would think, but you never know with Comcast Sports.
I think that it was a good idea to move this game away from the Ducks' game time.
It's already going to be a low-attendance game.

This site is posting TV coverage for a few games.

2:00 p.m. KPAX (Montana) Montana at Portland State

How low is low? What do you think the attendance will be for that game?

The home opener last year had a pretty good showing, but that was with a ton of hype, and a huge letdown with the result.

What's Western average, 4k?

I'd bet we'll see 12-13k for this game.

I'd be perfectly content with 12-13k for our home opener this year, but I'm assuming dystopiamembrane defined "low" as fewer than that. I haven't fogotten the days when we had between 4-5k for a home opener (see UNC just two short years ago).

Do you remember that Western State game?

No. To which game do you refer?

The good old days. Not even Wiser's multiple interceptions could stand in the way of our rushing domination!

Vikings need to rethnk thier relationships!

I would like to see EWU and PSU play later in the season. From what I understand, PSU is down this year but has depth. EWU could get beat up this year by playing Texas Tech and Colorado and Montana in the first five weeks. PSU has had EWU's number early in the season the past few seasons, but. EWU allways comes on strong and PSU fades. It might be a good idea to play EWU in November. While EWU is ranked in the top ten, courting 2nd place in he BSC, PSU near the top and needing a big win, how perfect! PSU can beat EWU late in the late season then be a playoff team like EWU has been 4 out of the past five years.

EWU students love PSU here, they want to make them their main rival, but PSU keeps falling down in football...so

Football is the only game in the Big Sky. Portland may be better served by moving into the manpurse conferences more accustomed to the metrosexual. Champions in vollyball, ice skating and gymnastictics.
PSU has 25,000 students the BSC average is 12,890, yet we still lose? Call Sacramento State, make a manpurse league and we will survive!

My suggestions, PSU should move to the
