2008 Playoffs

So the IAA playoff bracket has been posted and as far as schools from out west are concerned, they have Texas State traveling to Montana and Weber State traveling to Cal Poly. I was hoping that none of the three schools would have been matched up against each other to get an idea of how the western schools match up with some of the eastern schools. Also only ONE of the schools has the potential to advance semifinals. Not sure how this bracket stacks up with brackets in the past but it would have been nice to see some of the western schools with the possibility of advancing to the semifinals.

The good news is that either school will not see Appalachian State until the championship game. The bad news is that either school will have to go through James Madison to get to Appalachian State. Any comments/predictions/complaints/concerns/thoughts/ideas/issues that anyone wants to add? The last few years ESPN2 has been televising the playoffs, I am not sure if they are still planning on doing this.

Actually, I like the fact that the schools will not have to face App State until the championship....though my fear is the national media, FWIW when cover FCS football, will probably hype up the JMU/ASU potential national semifinal more than anything. We shall see.

Personally, Im rooting for Cal Poly to win the whole thing. Even though I should be rooting for conference foes, I gotta give love to our fellow CSU Green and Gold!!!

I dont understand how Montana is a co BSC champ, they lost to WSU. It doesnt make sense, can someone explain? Does the BSC have some sort of crush on UM? WSU is the real BSC champ!

Yes, UM thinks they are the Big Sky.

Each season I pray for their program to get destroyed, I hope theyre knocked out in the first round of the playoffs, I cant stand them.

I'm not happy at all with this bogus ECB bracket. I had a Griz-Weber final, and now they're forcing it in the second round.

I am pulling for our Big Sky mates as long as they are still playing. If Montana and Weber advance deep in the playoffs it will speak well for the level of competition in the Big Sky. I have nothing against Cal Poly, I was pulling for them against the Badgers and will support them again if/when the Griz and Wildcats are eliminated. After all Poly people were supporting Davis against us, because of the GWFC thing.
