2008 schedule

We've played Texas State before, when they were called Southwest Texas State. What happened to McNeese against EWU? Was totally surprised by that outcome, as the Cowboys were the most impressive team we played this year, and we actually beat the eagles. I guess that's football.

Well we peaked as a team this year against EWU. I was surprised we almost beat Montana at Missoula. It's not that long ago we had a season where we beat both Montana and McNeese State.

They also played San Angelo State back when we were a D-II, but I doubt we would actually travel tp play them but rather have them come to Portland.

I wish PSU could afford to play that kind of non-conference schedule. UM probably won't have a tough game until October 11, and they'll be making money playing mediocre teams. Ugh.

Yeah, I think Cal Poly might beat the Griz, but I hear what you're saying about wishing that PSU could afford to play that kind of schedule. I still think UM could take 2-3 losses next year.

On the flip side, UM can't afford not to play a schedule like this. With 23k (will be 25k) per game at home, the athletic department budget depends on the football revenue. They'll never trade a weak FCS or DII game at home to play a tough FCS or mid-major FBS team for 100k to 250k on the road.

Talk about being stuck at different ends of the spectrum. :-\
