2008 schedule

I think so. Western Washington should be at home, and we know WSU is on the road, and the conference schedule will be split, so that should equate to a 5 game home schedule.

So Portland State is only playing 11 games in 2008 whereas Montana is playing 12?

All FCS schools are allowed to play 12 games as of next year, don't know if we are though. It would help.

Anyone know what the breakeven point (attendance wise) is for a PSU football game at PGE Park? I guess what I'm getting at is this: At what point does it make sense to schedule an additional home game (12th game of the season) for the Athletic Department?

I suppose a big part would have a lot to do with how the lease/rental agreement between the University and the City of Portland for the use of PGE Park for PSU home football games. Can events such as the spring game or an additonal game (regular season, posts season is different with the NCAA) be added to our agreement for a somewhat low cost? What sort of overhead is there for concessions, security, etc.

I know about that. I just wonder if PSU is going to get a 4th OOC game in 2008.

Hmmm... I hadn't considered the 12th game but you all raise an interesting point. I still say Cal Poly would make an attractive home and home. I wonder if University of San Diego would schedule us as a home and home or simply come up to PGE? Would we want to play USD?

Is there something of a "penalty" (in the eyes of, say, the playoff selection committee) for playing a non-scholly school like USD?

I've got to think that someone could put in a records request to the city regarding the lease at PGE.

There shouldn't be since there sure isn't any sort of a credit in the eyes of the playoff selection committee for playing (3) D1A (FBC) teams. ;-)

No kidding...

They are at least FCS. Could they penalize a scholly FCS school for playing USD more than for playing a D-II team? Surely USD and schools like that are a notch ahead of Western Washington, Western Oregon, and Ft. Lewis.
