Viking Men Picked Second, Fourth In Big Sky Preseason Polls

I wonder what coach picked us to win the BSC.

I'm surprised we weren't picked higher, but I think the lack of confidence is based on the coaching change as opposed to our returning talent.

One reason that we're so low in the coaches poll is that they realize the value of the practice time we're losing and for the most part the media just looks at returning players & schedule.

You're right, four days of practice missed adds up. Especially with a new team and coach. Not much of a preseason, either, before we hit the Big Guys. I can only hope the new guys rally around the experienced starters - and that Nelson plays right off with more consistency than he showed last year. It will be fun and interesting to watch.

Yeah, I'd forgotten about that. Ugh.

Athlons picks Weber to win the Big Sky with the Vikings in second,Waters is 1st team all conf and the preseason player of the year is Anthony Johnson of Montana.

Have to be encouraged by a comfortable road win. Players get to begin the winter break in Malibu too. I'm jealous.

Yes, it's a nice feeling, however brief. Now we dive into conference and see what we're really made of. Can we hang on to that first place? I'd guess a little longer, though it might be a tie after this weekend. I think you said you'd be happy with a 1-1 coming out of the Montanas, Marty, and I agree. But heck, we might take them both. But I don't think we could take UNC at this point. They're playing like we did at the end of last season. I was impressed by the Weber game. They're smooth all around, few mistakes. No one outstanding player.
First the Montanas.

I'm sure Wyokie is just dying to bring this up. Former PSU coach Heath Schroyer is apparently on the verge of being fired at Wyoming.
