I definitely understand some of your frustrations. I know how slow the summer feels (trust me: we go a million miles an hour in this office for 10 months and then ... just ... stop in June and July). We do have some updates up, though. Volleyball, men's basketball (to this point) are new, and schedules for volleyball, football and soccer are available, too. Men's basketball is very close (and there are some nice surprises on that).
I can only offer this: Downing and his assistants are doing basically everything they can to get our roster to a level that resembles a Division I program (and considering what he had to start with, it's understandable that it takes time). To that end, additions and subtractions are still being made. At this point, our roster is still too much in flux to publish. And that's a good thing. Trust me. Besides, not all Big Sky rosters are updated (Montana, for instance), so it's not out of the norm. It is frustrating, though. And we're working on it.
On the media guide front: It's true we are not publishing media guides this year. Everybody and their mother is going this direction (http://www.texastech.com/genrel/071309aaa.html), and the 2010-11 season will most likely include an NCAA mandate as such. You all probably know that we just don't have a lot of media in our area (Greeley Tribune, Mirror ... sometimes Windsor Beacon) who actually would use a media guide. So, it was just a waste of money for us anyway. We will however have all the information that would be included in a media guide available on our Web site (with the potential for even more because we'll have more time to devote to each and every one of our student-athletes). This will also allow us (the media relations office, funds, etc.) to devote more time to all our sports -- not just the top-tier programs. And that's the hallmark of a true Division I program.
