2009 Non-Conference road arena's

I am not sure why but I get a kick out of stadiums and arena's. Here are the non-conference road arena's our mens basketball team will be playing at this season:

University of Hawaii
Stan Sheriff Center

Air Force
Clune Arena

North Dakota
Sioux Center

Oklahoma
Lloyd Noble Center

TCU
Daniel-Meyer Coliseum

It's strange because 3 of the 5 arena's all have that similar round look like Assembly hall at the University of Illinois. That must be kind of a standard layout.

Troy has probably been to most of these, I wonder what his take is on the different gyms.

It looks like the smallest arena we visit this season is Portland State's:

It's quite a bit smaller, something like a 1,200 capacity, Sacramento State is about the same size. Makes Butler look huge in comparison.

It is MUCH smaller than Butler-Hancock. But, easily one of the best environments I visited last season. Regardless of an arena's size, if the fans are right on top of the action, it creates quite a feel. And that's what the Vikings have going. When we walked in for our walk-through, I thought, "This is awful. I can't believe we're playing in this." But when we came back for our game that night, it was completely different, with a band jamming on one baseline and cheerleaders going nuts on the other.

Butler-Hancock, if we could get you all to come on out and fill it up, could easily be one of the best facilities for basketball in the BSC. The more than 2,000 in attendance on Tuesday night for the volleyball victory against Colorado made a HUGE, HUGE difference. We could have the same dynamic as the Stott Center, only with A LOT more people. Butler isn't huge, so squeezing 2,734 into its seats would create one heck of a place to visit.
