2010-2011 Recruiting Thread

I read somewhere that coach Baldwin expected about 75 players for Spring practice. Has anyone been out to see them practice? We're down in Northern CA. We may fly up up for the Red & White game on the 30th. I can't wait until August!

Think this vid is a little better

Look at the 2:55 mark on this clip, he may have released a tad early, but when was the last time you saw the long snapper as the first one up the field to make the tackle as the ball is caught.

lol.

Looks like a real good athlete.

This dude reminds me of a Jeff Ogden type player.

does anyone know of how many players have left the program? I know someone mentioned something about Andre Williams who I thought was a RS anyway. any others?

Rumor has it another future QB. Nelson looks pretty impressive but have to wonder why he didn't get any other offers and is walking on.

He's a young kid with little experience at the QB position. No offers, so perhaps not good enough for big boy football.

We've had some success with walk-ons before. I think Harry Leons and Jeff Ogden off of our '97 team that made it to the semi's were both walk-ons at one point.

This is a very impressive amount of information on this year's class. Who do most of you believe to be the jewel of this recruiting class on both offense and defense? The Adams kid seems like a really good grab for EWU although it will be interesting to see how he fits into a more passing orientated offense? Is it possible that he will play a different position or was he recruited specifically for quarterback?

EWU has been known to find a great many players who flew under the radar of the Pac 10 schools for whatever reason and I am wondering who you all think which player or players could be a diamond in the rough.

We didn't sign a ton of players on defense, mostly db's. But I guess the obvious choice as far as defensive players would be the Idaho LB McCarthy who was the Gatorade player of the year there. The 320 pound defensive tackle Delgado looks pretty good as well, although perhaps he may play Guard?

Offensively, I'd say the obvious "jewel" would be the QB from Pasadena, although the Shaquille Hill kid and the RB Talley from Oregon look pretty sound.

I think the biggest positional needs we addressed this year were lineman, and it looks like we got some good ones. I also like the fact that we got some big 6'4 - 6'5 ends that could either play TE or DE down the line. It's hard to who the diamonds in the rough are or who the impact players from this class will be. Lots of variables there. One player I will be really interested in following is Jason Boyce - his brother was a darn good player at EWU and it sucks that he only got to play part of his Senior year.
