Lawndale (Calif.) Leuzinger quarterback Te Shon Burton lands his offer from Big Sky program...

http://recruiting.scout.com/2/875934.html

Lawndale (Calif.) Leuzinger quarterback Te Shon Burton, who was one of the standout performers at last month's Scout.com Combine, has picked up his first offer.
"TeShon was offered by Portland State," said Leuzinger recruiting coordinator Ralph Oliver.

Burton had a stellar showing in Los Angeles at the Scout.com Combine, earning "All Under-the-Radar" honors.

As a 2008 junior, Burton threw for 1,546 yards and 11 touchdowns for the Olympians.

McHi's Garza, Inskeep Get D-1 Offers

USTA, Portland State Make It Official, More Offers Expected

http://www.valleycentral.com/sports/sports_story.aspx?id=318320

MCALLEN -- The first known Division I football scholarship offers for the Valley's class of 2010 have been issued, and two McAllen Bulldogs are the recipients.

Wide receiver Nick Garza and offensive lineman Scott Inskeep are both expected to field many offers before the February signing date, and the 1st two come from some well known college coaches.

Former University of Miami head coach Larry Coker, now the first coach for the fledgling UT-San Antonio football program, has offered invitations to both Garza & Inskeep to join the Roadrunners' inaugural team, playing their 1st games in the fall of 2010. Coker won the 2001 national championship with the Hurricanes, finishing a perfect 12-0 season with a win over Nebraska in the 2002 Orange Bowl.

Former Houston Oilers and Atlanta Falcons coach Jerry Glanville, now the coach at Portland State of the Big Sky conference, also has the two Bulldogs on his radar and has already issued scholarship offers to both Garza & Inskeep.

The Bulldog pair are also being looked at by other football programs, most notably Texas State(Garza) and Colorado State(Inskeep).

Vik's Offer South Medford QB

It has been a busy Summer and OregonPreps continues to track down the best athletes to see where there road is taking them. While we can not get everywhere we sure try and hit the major events.

One guy has been there no matter where we have gone. He drives 5 hours each way from Medford on a regular basis to attend the Barton Football Academy. Schuman's Underclassmen Combine, Oregon Camp, Nike NFTC; you name it he has been there improving his game.

Jerry will always try to recruit the islands:

Exposure priceless for many

"Even at 6 feet 5 and 230 pounds, Kapa'a High School senior Sean Shigematsu could have easily gone unnoticed by college football recruiters.

Playing on a 1-6-1 team in a three-team league on the state's fourth-most populated island, Shigematsu might have been at risk of falling through the cracks as big-name programs cherry-picked prospects from higher-profile schools."

"He said he has received some early interest from the University of Hawai'i, Portland State, Wyoming and Utah State."

Update:

Oregon QB Earns First Offer

http://washington.scout.com/a.z?s=147&p=2&c=876830

It took a while, but Josh Milhollin can now take a nice, long breath. After going to camps and working hard in the off-season, the 6-foot-3, 180-pound quarterback from South Medford High School in Medford, Ore. was rewarded with his first scholarship offer, from Portland State University, Scout.com learned Thursday night.

Idaho and Princeton have been also been recruiting Milhollin hard, and right now it appears as if he won't make a final decision until after an official visit to PSU to make sure it's the perfect fit for him.

Milhollin is currently the No. 6 rated player in the state of Oregon by Scout.com. He was a Southwest Conference Honorable Mention pick at quarterback and punter after a strong junior campaign. He went 151-278 for 2285 yards and 21 touchdowns in 2008. He also averaged over 37 yards a punt, with a long kick of 72 yards

Tym Pearson is here and gone in the blink of an eye. I reckon Engstrom will hang around longer. And he should be better, at least as far as experience goes. Anyone know anything about him?

Crater looks to finish strong

Chief among the returners is mammoth nose guard Michael Bishop, a 6-foot-2, 320-pound senior. A first-team all-conference pick last year, he's already received a scholarship offer from :) Portland State. :)

"Bishop's pretty good," Beck says, chuckling at the understatement. "He's pretty fast and he's pretty strong. We've never had a kid get an early offer, ever."

First verbal of the year?

"As this year's matchup looms, Toliver said his game plan includes more passing than last year's team thanks to the return of senior quarterback Te Shon Burton, who has verbally committed to Portland State University."

Hello spread offense.

Or as Rashad Floyd calls it, the run and shoot and run.

Another good pickup for this staff. I'll be interested to see if he actually gets a shot at quarterback given that combo of size and speed.

I did a quick search on rivals, looks like we have 29 offers out if I'm reading this correctly.
