2010 Schedule

Here are the missing holes from the 2010 schedule. I got an email from Dr. Wanless that said, we are playing Western Oregon on Sept. 11. UC Davis game is Nov. 20th.

Thanks HHD, sounds good. So the bye will be mid season, Oct 16th.

I think so, but I didn't confirm that with Dr. Wanless.

I think that is the only other weekend open. I was just worried that the Causeway would be on that day and we would be without a bye week. A mid season bye should work out well.

Thanks for the update HHD. If what Wanless said is true, here is what the schedule will look like:

- 9/4/10 - @ Stanford
- 9/11/10 – Western Oregon
- 9/18/10 – Weber State
- 9/25/10 - @ Montana
- 10/2/10 – Montana State
- 10/9/10 – Northern Colorado
- 10/16/10 – BYE
- 10/23/10 - @ Eastern Washington
- 10/30/10 - @ Northern Arizona
- 11/6/10 – Portland State
- 11/13/10 - @ Idaho State
- 11/20/10 – Causeway @ “the farm extension”

I love the mid-season bye and the Causeway being the last game of the season. As much as I would have liked to see a FCS school for the last spot, the lower tier non-counter fits well with it being after the Stanford game. My only other complaint is the lack of home games near the tail end of the season.

Western Oregon gave Cal Poly a better game in 2007 than four or five FCS teams did that year. Not a bad DII team.

I agree. Would have been nice to get NAU at home for Halloween eve. Those are going to be some HOT games if held again at 2pm. New turf, new reflective heat objects (Broad & Well's cement will retain and reflect more heat inward.) and no shade, whew! Visions of the aggie bake bowl reappear. We are almost going to need a later start time or add shading like the Oregon schools.

How much are we receiving for going to the farm?
How much are we paying W. Oregon?
If 17,000+ filled Hornet stadium for '09 Causeway, how will 10,000 seat new toomey accomodate the lack of seat availability? Seems like a cryin shame to leave 7,000+ paying customers out, thats money left off the table. A full game's attendance at most Big Sky member schools.

I say whoever wins gets to repeat at home until the other wins again to bring it home.

All in all a good schedule, glad to have football!!

And people whine about me calling for Grand Valley.

WOU went 5-5 last year and 7-4 the year before. After glancing over their stats and roster, they lost their starting QB, leading WR and 2nd leading rusher to graduation. They do seem to have some good size returning on both sides of the line and at LB next year but nothing our guys shouldn't be able to handle. This should not be a problem for the Hornets this season. I'm too lazy to look over which key defenders return but I suspect there will be a heavy run game plan to handle this team. WOU shouldn't be overlooked, but it should and will be a Hornet victory nonetheless. Hell if they lose this game the season would be rendered meaningless and the coaches should start looking for a new job. :geek:

Does a WOU loss trump a Causeway win, SD?
That's a tough one, but as a true Hornet fan knows, nothing is better than beating "the farm extension". I'd prefer a win against both opponents. ;)

And it shall be done!!!!

WAYYYYYYY too early, but worked out good for my bball picks! People generally think of me at the Donnie Downer around here, but no more... I've always thought this would be the breakout year for the Hornets and I think they do it in a big way... While I would be disappointed in anything less than 6-5, I see 8-3 and a playoff berth as a real possibility for once...

So, I guess Stung would consider a 1-10 season a rousing success so long as that one win is against Davis.

LOL

Given a choice between a win against the farm extension or WOU, I would choose the win against the farm extension. Losing to them is the worst in my opinion. :)

No point in making predictions now, it's too early, and I dont want to use up all my talking points this early in the off-season. :P

I will say that it will come down to how effective and efficient MBT is (or whoever else the starter may be). A consistent passing game will be needed to compliment the running game...and visa versa.

It looks like a really good schedule. Tough series with Weber, UM, and MSU to kick off BSC play, but at least 2 of those are at home.

Kadeezy, you're on fire with your hoops predictions, so hopefully your "HEART POV" list is the more accurate one!
