The big story for NBC was the issue of Canada's failure to produce gold on home turf. Now that that is out of the way, they may focus more resources on other sports.
BTW, they HAVE shown extensive coverage of biathlon and Nordic Combined, which until these Games had NEVER seen a USA medal of ANY flavor. And it was merely fatigue at the end that kept that first medal from being gold. China seems to be dominating the pairs figure skating, too. We WILL be subjected to those themes, SD. Just be prepared to watch at odd times to see non-USA/Canada teams in their milieu.
Also remember that there will likely be emphasis on countries with one participant for the entire Games. Personally, I'm wondering where Eddie the Eagle is....

I have no qualms with NBC's coverage. You also should watch other coverage on USA Network, CNBC and PMSNBC...

As with any limited term thing, much of the coverage is driven by the schedule set up by the IOC. It's tight as it is, and it's been exacerbated by the weather issues (see L. Vonn). NBC is playing the cards they have been dealt. Sure, there may be some issues with the live/tape delay debate, but it's probably easier for us here than for those on the Wrong Coast.
