2011 Player Awards/Recognition

A handful of Hornets received BSC recognition. Also individual team awards were handed out at the awards banquet this past Sunday:

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Sacramento State's Zack Nash was voted to the all-Big Sky Conference first team for the second consecutive season and was one of six Hornets to earn all-league honors, it was announced today.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Sacramento State senior defensive end Zack Nash was named to the Associated Press All-America first team it was announced today. The honor is the latest for Nash who has also been selected to the American Football Coaches Association first team.

Nash is just the second Hornet to earn first team honors from the AP since the school moved to the Football Championship Subdivision in 1993 — joining running back Charles Roberts (1999). Nash was voted to the AP second team in 2010.

"This is a very nice honor," Nash said. "It feels like all the hard work paid off and came to a culmination this year."
