There isn't a lot of news coming out about recruits right now; however, i've got some information. Weber has offered some players for next fall, and they look pretty good.

Tim Derksen: Amphitheater High in Tucson AZ. 6-4 180 WING

Specific Utah Player...I don't know if I'm allowed to talk about him yet or not, but he is a PF. If you are interested go do your own research. There is only one in the state that is at his level.
Weber, USU, BYU, and BSU

Kenny Martin (I'm not 100% he has an offer). This kid reminds me a lot of Dave Patten. He can jump out of the gym and has a nice looking jump shot. He is a rebounding/defensive machine. He had 262 rebounds and 115 blocks to go along with 309 points as a Jr.

Weber, St. Mary's, and ASU

Demetrious Morant 6-8 190 Bishop Gorman Las Vegas: Weber, Memphis, Cal, UA, St. Louis, Portland, WSU.
He is kinda a longshot. Would be nice...

There is another big in AZ that says he has an offer from Weber. Eric Jacobsen currently 6'10 235 lbs. and will be a senior at Hamilton HS in Gilbert, AZ in the fall. Is expected to be 7' or more as he is still growing.

From AZ preps: Recently, Jacobsen has received scholarship offers from San Francisco and Weber State - his first two offers of the spring. Jacobsen is also hearing from numerous other division-I programs for his services already, as such schools as Arizona State, Oregon State, Auburn, Stanford, Cal, USC and Boise State have all began to show serious interest in Jacobsen.

Nice find Heyoh with Jacobsen...

Dewayne Russell 5-11 145. PG

From Arizona Be Recruited.com
Mr.RUSSELL AS GOOD AS THEY GET

Dewayne Russel is new to AZ and when you see him play you can tell he is not from around here. He has that east coast swagg and has the game to back it up. In the sophmore top 20 game held at Mesquite High School he was playing against arguably the three of the top five guards in the stae for 10th graders (Demetrius Balark, Omar Lee, Calean Robinson) and showed everybody he is one of the elite 2012 players in the state of Arizona, he is a true point guard that can handle the ball, shoot it, and pass it very well. He is High Major Prospect that will soar this basketball season.

Michael Hardge 5-11 CG

http://www.maxpreps.com/athletes/IcXB7TO1dUOlFxPJu5cNow/basketball-winter-10-11/stats-michael-hardge.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

He has an offer from Texas State.

Alfonzo Hubbard

http://nativetimes.com/index.php?op...etball-player-eyes-college&catid=38&Itemid=13

"In some circles, the 6-foot-5-inch, 205-pound Hubbard is considered the best basketball player ever to come out of McKinley County (New Mexico). The versatile Hubbard led the Class 5A Bengals in scoring, rebounds and blocked shots each of his three years at Gallup High, which included a 22-game winning streak and District 1-5A championship and No. 2 ranking in the state during the 2008-09 season and a trip to the state tournament at The Pit in Albuquerque. When it was all said and done, Hubbard, born and raised in Gallup, finished his senior year averaging 28.6 points, 13.3 rebounds and 2.4 blocks. Prior to Hubbard's arrival, Gallup High hadn't been to a state tournament in more than 20 years."

"Todd Phillips, assistant basketball coach at Salt Lake Community College in Salt Lake City, where Alfonzo played this year, called Hubbard, 20, an exceptional player and said he's on schedule to graduate in general studies in May. Phillips said having Hubbard on the team has been fantastic.

"He's definitely a great all-around player and having him on the team has worked out very well," Phillips said, noting SLCC's 25-8 record the past year. Hubbard, a starter and a 2010-11 National Junior College All-American, led SLCC in nearly every category, Phillips noted, averaging 17.9 points, 7.3 rebounds and 2.6 blocks. Playing mostly guard and forward, Hubbard was second on the team in minutes played, Phillips said, averaging 28.8 minutes a game. Last month, Hubbard led SLCC with 27 points on 12-of-19 shooting in a 94-86 Region 18 Championship loss to the College of Southern Idaho."

""Right now, I'm preparing to take some recruiting visits," Hubbard said recently. He said he's contemplating signing with Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, the University of the Pacific in Stockton, Calif., the University of California-Riverside, Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas, the University of Texas-Pan American in Edinburg, Florida International University in Miami, Portland State University in Oregon, Weber State University in Ogden, Utah or Utah Valley University in Orem, among other schools. He said he'll make a decision on which school to attend in the coming months."

wsucatfan-

Thanks for the scoop. Glad to see NAU recruiting a local-ish kid. I have always thought that reaching out to the best basketball fans in the state (north and east of Flagstaff on the Navajo and Hopi reservations) would be a good thing for NAU to partake in. If Alonzo doesn't end up in Flagstaff, I hope he gives Weber State a shot and succeeds regardless of where he ends up.

You are a classy guy MT. Jack...always like hearing from you.

I agree, I hope this kid does well. Its interesting seeing him being courted by three Big Sky teams: Weber, NAU, and PSU. From what I understand, which isn't much (lol), PSU and NAU do not have any available scholies. NAU might have one, but with the recent signees and the number of redshirts sticking around, I don't see how Adras can add another player, unless he agrees to redshirt, which is rare for a JC. PSU, definitely doesn't have an opening. I believe that they are still on scholie reduction for another year. As for Weber, we are in the market for this type of player and we do have an open scholie. The only problem is that he wont get a lot of playing time backing up Bull as a JR. From what I remember, I think Weber was recruiting this kid out of high school and might have been instrumental in getting him a spot at SLCC. I'm guessing Weber might be looking at three or four JCs...Wings and maybe another PG. I like this kid...

I am 99.99% sure that Weber will not be going after this kid. If NAU has a spot, I hope they get him. I just hope he doesn't go off on us when we play.

Agreed...he looks like a hard-working kid and I wish him the best.

As for 2012...We all know that the coaches are recruiting areas other than AZ and TX. I've got a list of 800 players from California that have been evaluated by DI scouts and coaches. I'm pretty sure that there has got to be a handful of players, on that list, that are being recruited by Weber. But right now trying to find them has been similar to trying to find a needle in a haystack. Frustrating...

Our top recruit. Need I say more??? He got his first offer from Weber...

I know that State has offered him, but its funny that this article doesn't even acknowledge Stew and Co.

In some BYU basketball news, the Cougars have reportedly offered a scholarship to West Jordan junior Jordan Loveridge. Loveridge, a 6-foot-6 post player, said on his Twitter account Thursday morning that he received the offer from the Cougars last night.
He is averaging 24.5 points per game this season and also has an offer from Weber State.

I LOVE OUR LOCAL MEDIA and HOW THEY RESPECT WEBER...DOOSHES!!

http://www.ksl.com/?nid=294&sid=15096911&s_cid=rss-294" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I've heard a rumour (YES A RUMOUR...thats what I said...A RUMOUR. This is unsubstantiated information) however, Weber is looking at possibly getting a transfer this summer, that is known information. However, the rumour is that either, former Utes, J.J. O'Brien or Glover, might be taking a visit. I will believe it when I see it.

Loveridge definitely makes sense. With Bull and Mahoney both graduating after next season, I'm sure that Rahe wants to find a tweener; a player who can battle in the paint, but can also take his game outside. I'm thinking the coaches see Loveridge as someone who can take the open spot that will be left open by Bull's (I don't even want to think about that now; I'm a huge fan of Bull) graduation.

How many scholarships does Rahe have to work with for next fall? If we don't sign a transfer this summer, I'm thinking three or four. As of right now, we know of four players who have been offered. Does anyone else have any information?

If the coaches could sign these four; it would be an absolutely amazing class!!

Jordan Loveridge: West Jordan High UT 6-6 190 (this spring in an AAU game in Denver he had 35pts and 19rb).
Tim Derksen: Amphitheater High AZ 6-4 180 CG/PG (Some say he has PAC12 talent and is a sleeper) ESPN as him as an 85
Demetrious Morant: Bishop Gorman NV 6-8 200 PF/C (Memphis has offered) ESPN has him as an 88
Eric Jacobsen: Hamilton High AZ 6-10 235 C (San Fran has offered)

Transfer information?? What is Weber looking for?

What does Weber have? This can tell us what Weber needs.
PG: Lillard (Hoping 2 years), Richardson (3 years), Wheelwright (4 years), I've heard that Fields and Brown could also play the PG, but most likely wont happen.
SG: Bamforth (2 years), Brown (4 years), Fields (4 years)...
SF: Bullinger (1 year), Fields (4 years...this is probably quite the stretch for him); maybe Byron Fulton (if Weber goes to a big lineup)
PF: Mahoney (1 year), Fulton (3 years), Frank Otis (2 years)
C: Tresnak (3 years), Hajek (4 years), Mahoney (1 year)

I'm guessing Weber will see a 9 man rotation next season, anyway, automatically, I think Weber needs to sign a SF, PF, and a combo guard who could fill in at the SF in a 3 guard rotation.

Eric Jacobsen's stats. He plays for Hamilton High in AZ.

Josh Fuller... I'm not sure if I can put him down in this section, since he wont be playing for the Cats till 2013-2014 season, but its good information nonetheless.

Riley Bradshaw isn't LDS, so no mission. Cory Calvert is LDS and will be going on a mission. We haven't offered Loveridge, and doubt that we will. If we have any scholarships available for 2012, we want a PF/C in the 6'10" range. We've already got offers out for 2013.

Eric Jacobsen has verballed to Arizona.

Jacobsen would have been a great addition, but there wasn't really any hope of him coming to Weber. ASU is picking up a great kid. Demetrious Morant has an offer from Memphis, so the chances of Weber getting him are extremely slim. I'm thinking, if Weber signs a C/PF, that Kenny Martin might be a decent fit. However, we all know that Weber's top choice is a PF from West Jordan.

Now if only Weber can get him to sign over BYU and Utah...

There are three things that I really like about this player. First, he sees the floor very well. In his film, of course it's a highlight film, he made some nice looking passes in the open court. Second, he knows how to get the ball to the hoop. He looked great in transition and in driving to the hoop. Third, I like southpaws. He has great control with his right hand, but he is a lefty that will start right and then suddenly turn left confusing defenses.

With this offer, it means Weber has offered two guards from AZ for the 2012 class. Weber only has two spots available. Both players leaving are bigs. I'm a bit worried about Weber's depth at the F/SF positions for the 2012-2013 season (Fulton, Barry, I guess Fields, but isn't he more of a guard...3 guard lineup perhaps??)
