2012 Recruits (Early Signing-Nov 2011)

This coaching staff leans more to a three guard line up. If you recall, they were reluctant to move Bull to the three spot. It's not about size. It's about the ability to pass, handle the ball, defend, and shoot out on the wing. If you can find a 6'6'' or bigger guy to do that, then great. If not, we will be using a 6'3'' or 6'4'' guy at the 3 spot. Since this staff got here, Bull is the only one over 6'4'' to play in that spot. That is why one or two of these incoming freshmen are going to play as true freshmen. We will have a 5 to 6 player rotation at those three positions. The nice thing about guys like we are bringing in, is that they can play at least two of the three spots with efficiency. :dance:

Right on the button, the 3 position is becoming non-existent. This is happening all over the NCAAs. Its kind of like a fullback in football. Weber usually goes small while other teams go big with someone who is more of a 4 but is light in the belt.
 
What are the chances of Weber actually being able to get this guy; Calaen Robinson? I would love Loveridge to become a Wildcat too, but I'm afraid the cougars have him. Granted, none of the Weber players are back yet, so as long as Loveridge waits, I think it improves Weber's chances. He just needs to play ball with the Cats.

if SLCC doesn't have room, I don't know why we would want him as a walk on. He's not a Rahe type anyway, more like a Stew type. Stew is bringing in Norvell Arnold who has pending charges of smoking dope, distributing, and domestic violence.

Walker Gale needs to find a juco in Wyoming or Montana and work
his way into a possible D-1 situation.
 
Yeah, Stew's been known to give kids a second chance. He does it with all those foster kids he and his wife take in. But, if you read the article, it states that Gale's basketball skills are at the level they were when he was a soph in HS. So the reason he's not a Weber kinda guy, is that his skills are at too high a level. Mook.

it is really admirable what the morrills have done. as for taking on players with baggage there was no finer reformed player than that guard from about 4 yrs ago, david pack i think. he turned out to be a classy guy and he did some good things with his future. he came from the same JC as franklin session, not quite as good of a story. :lol:

Kyndahl Hill 6-6 205...He has an offer from Weber State. Now, here is the interesting bit. The offer, could, likely, be from Mac, he is receiving interest from DI football programs as well as DI basketball programs.

It's clear what we are looking for; a 4/5, and a wing. I only expect us to bring in two or three players next year. If they get everyone they want in the fall, great. If not, they will probably leave one spot open into the late spring or summer.
 
If Rahe can get the players he is looking to sign, then I think Weber signs three next fall. I haven't found any information yet, but I'm sure that Weber is looking at a few JCs. The last couple spring JC signees have turned out nicely, so...who knows.

I agree though, I think the Wizard is looking for an athletic wing and another 4.

He isn't the greatest 3pt shooter, but nonetheless, he is a hell of a player. He had a triple-double, averaged 5 assists per game and 10.5 rebounds, along with 17.5 points. What is most impressive about his game is that he only had 56 TOs during his JR year. Derksen has blown up this summer. He was an 85 at the end of the basketball season, now he's a 90. I hope Weber still has a shot at getting him.
 
From what I am hearing, Derksen might not be at the top of the Weber State list. Also, I heard that getting Calaen Robinson might take some devine intervention, but there is still a possibility.

“I remember when Weber State offered me during my sophomore year, and it was really a bit overwhelming to me at the time,” he said. “It was exciting for sure to know that a college program believed in me enough to offer me a scholarship.”

Loveridge immediately liked Weber’s head coach Randy Rahe and his staff. He’s since visited the school often on unofficial visits.

“I really like it up there,” he said. “They were the first school to believe in me, and gave me my first offer, so I love that about them. The coaches really have a good thing going up there, and it’s a school I’m strongly considering.”

Love how two hours after KSL publishes their article, Tony Jones writes a blog about how Loveridge is definitely considering USU. Tony must not be very good at math, and I hate to break it to him, 13 = 13!! I guess Jones thinks that, Bair has decided to walk on and give his scholie to Loveridge? If anything, I wouldn't doubt seeing Stew pull another Autry and drop one of the verbals? It would have to be Bair. You aren't going to get rid of your top PG prospect, nor a kid that could be one of your better 2's in a while. 5 kids have already verballed to USU for 2012 two are mission kids...THERE IS NO ROOM IN THE INN JONES (that would go for Tyler Ott too...Bradshaw took his place)!! What a clown. He is a terrible journalist.

Regardless, I really like Kyndahl Hill. He is 6-7 and has a lot of potential of becoming a great player. His game is fun to watch. He is a tough nosed player, who won't give up, and can flat out play defense. He has some really nice moves around the basket and has the body to put on some serious weight. The Wizard has found a definite gem in Hill.
 
Hill and Ott would both be great additions. I agree with Tal, I really like Hill's upside. He would fit in really well at Weber.

Of course I would love Loveridge, but I'm thinking he is going to become a Cougar.
