Why in the Hell would they make the Montana Game Homecoming, when they play Idaho state two weeks later. I thought you would want a chance to win your homecoming game, not play one of the leagues two or three best teams. Just another head scratcher.

That's what I was just about to post. Hinrichs is the worst scheduler in UNC history.

BTW, why do you care since your son is out of the program? Just a question.

Well, they have a bye week before to prepare so maybe they can keep it close.

Do they still do the bonfire and snake dance for homecoming?

I'm thinking they put Montana on homecoming to maximize the ratio of UNC fans to Montana fans.

I'll be optimisitic and say we go 1-10 and beat Mesa by a field goal! Wait, is that same kicker coming back from last year? If so we won't beat anyone by a field goal, OK we beat Mesa by a safety! :lol: :cry:

To try and avoid nasty weather. Its more likely to be nicer the weekend of the Montana game than it is two weeks later, as evidenced by the 10" of snow we received in Greeley before Halloween last fall. It has nothing to do with the opponent, and its not all Jay's decision given that the Alumni Association & administration also have roles in making that call.

Montana's returning starting QB is being charged with rape and had a restraining order placed on him. He is not attending spring practice, yet.

Mesa was pretty average in the RMAC last year, and I believe they had a lot of graduating seniors last year. They also have an entirely new coaching staff, including the former Chadron St head coach as OC, and the former Chadron Defensive Coordinator as DC.

Better to get them this fall than in a couple more.

This is a sure win for UNC, just like Lindenwood was last year.

I am looking forward to seeing how this team develops. I think there are some wins in this schedule if they can win early enough to get confidence.

Yeah, I know you love the RMAC but I'm glad we didn't get O'Boyle. He got into some big trouble at Chardon with a bunch of fund-raising money issues. http://kneb.com/sports/index.php?more=zuxqcmkm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Pretty cool though that his players and community members rallied in support of him. If Collins did the same as O'Boyle our players, especially the white kids would be dancing for joy at his dismissal. :rofl: http://rapidcityjournal.com/thechadronnews/news/community-player-support-for-o-boyle-continues/article_6a7e091a-0fcf-11e1-94f0-001cc4c002e0.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Well the white kids also don't run 4.4 40's, we need like 10 difference makers and less great students if we want to win football games. If we don't care about winning football games then bring back Downing and let's recruit Greeley West hard again. :lol:

The RMAC thing was not about love, it was knowledge. You guys should have paid attention to me before the Chadron game. :rofl:

O'Boyle has been run out of town for trying to leave town. That is in a nutshell the deal with his dismissal over there, the "funds" were very small, even within UNC standards. He was using money raised by ex-players in an annual alumni players golf tournament to pay for recruiting trips, and even travelling expenses during the season because they simply do not have enough funding through the athletic dept to keep up. Yeah it looks stupid, and obviously not above board, but the interesting thing was the very people who ran him out not only knew about this practice, but had in the past actually participated in it, including the prior head coach and now Athletic Director.

Mesa made a huge pickup here, and they are likely to start to sit at the top of the conference in a few years.

I no longer travel to see RMAC games due to the graduation of a key player a few years back.
