2012 Schedule

I HIGHLY disagree with you guys. My previous predictions stand.

That said, I am not thrilled that we have UNC as a non-counter (for league purposes, anyway). Of course, out here, we don't have much choice short of a third FBS or grabbing a D-II.

As far as the FBS games go, I do agree with CO as a loss, though short of Wazzu, they're probably the easiest mark in the Pac-12. While I'm calling it a loss, I am by no means indicating that it's an auto-loss, especially after what we did to the Biebers (ahem, I mean Beavers) last year. NMSU has been a nothing program since they left the Big West. They're probably about as close as we'll come to a sure FBS win short of traveling to the Sun Belt or the MAC.

SH: thats great you feel that way but do you have any evidence to indicate that a team that just lost to UC Dufus at home, has no verifiable quarterback (see the Sacbee article on what the Davis players said post-game about Saffron in case you need some corroboration) and lost about 15 skill position seniors is going to go into Lost Causes New Mexico and win? I would really like to hear it.

JJ:

1. I am naturally optimistic to the point of being myopic. You'll become intimately familiar with that as time goes on.

2. Much of our issues last year were directly related to injuries. So long as we avoid THAT and keep grades up, we should be fine.

3. Marshall Sperbeck is an outstanding coach, IMO, so I believe that good things are about to happen. Keep in mind that we haven't blindsided the team with a staff firing out of nowhere (Montana) or seen the HC bail all of a sudden (Weber State). Stability tells. Don't assume anything based on the middle and end of last year.

Curious as to the 2 p.m. start for the UNC game in mid Sept. All other home games are at night. Any insight into the 2 p.m. home opener start time?

Assume the Colorado game will be on the new Pac 12 TV network
And hope the New Mexico State game will be on TV or at least on the internet thru the NMSU Aggie Vision.
And the Montana State game and Causeway slated for TV
And hopefully the Cal Poly game being picked up for TV

along with the rest on Big Sky TV this would give Hornet fans a chance to see all games this fall when not in attendance in person.

My guess on the UNC start time is that game will be lucky to crack 8k, in which case Wanless is minimizing costs by not running up a huge electricity bill that evening.

NM State game should be available on ESPN 3, since its a Thursday night game, my guess it will be on a ESPN channel live depending on what other games kickoff that night.

ESPN and Fox share the Pac-12 football TV rights so that will probably be on TV somewhere. It might even end up on ESPN 3.
