2012 Schedule

Edit to reflect no UNI game 'till 2013-2014:
I also noticed the Big Sky future schedules where they keep one 13 team division and UNC will play their 2 rivals (North Dakota, NAU) every season and rotate the rest. Too bad Weber State isn't one of the rivals, I like playing them.

Here is the rotating schedule info:

Weber State and UNC will play this next year, wont in 2013 but play each other again in 2014 and 2015

Additionaly, we only have to play on EWU's red turf 1 time in 4 years. :dance:

Unfortunately, we have to play there in 2013 and 2015 ugh what an eyesore, It was hard watching the Weber/EWU game on tv last season, my eye's started hurting, We also dont play UND till 2014 I kinda would have liked to play them sooner, we have never met before.

Thank God UND got their new (2001) indoor football stadium

I remember listening to games (and seeing a few on TV) at the old Memorial Stadium with frozen astro-turf and it sounded like a horrible place to be.

I’ve been told UNC plays at Sac for an "OOC" matchup. My educated guess is week 3. :twocents:

Now that is strange, a Big Sky game that doesn't count towards the conference standings?
Yeah, with the recent expansion, all western FCS programs (except non-schollie USDiego) are now under the Big Sky umbrella. The only way to fill the OCC games would be to use BSC members as non BSC games, or land agreements with other programs from other conferences. I’ve seen posted that the BSC will discourage members scheduling each other to fill out an OOC. If this is true, scheduling OOC FCS programs will get very tough, especially for us in CA.

Outside of that game against Northern Colorado, you guys have a pretty good OOC schedule:

Week 1, Sept. 1st: @ Colorado
Week 2, Sept. 8th: @ New Mexico State
Week 3, Sept. 15th: vs. Northern Colorado
Week 4, Sept. 22nd: vs. North Dakota*
I hate that it has come to the point that the football program needs to be whored out twice a season to make ends meet. 2 FBS money games is a huge hurdle to clear when considering playoff eligibility. Pre BSC expansion, we had our rivalry with “the farm extension” fill up one of our OOC games, leaving only 2 games to be scheduled. With one of those going to an FBS money game, finding the last OOC opponent appeared to be less of a chore. Now with the expansion, AD Wanless is going to have to find 3 OOC for every season which increases the odds of scheduling a non D-1 opponent (another playoff eligibility hurdle) which is something I don’t want to see. As you can tell, I'm not a fan of the recent BSC expansion. :ohno:

It's funny, I can almost see a super-conference (similar to what the FBS conferneces) with more old D-II NCC (now Missouri Valley) schools joining the Big Sky like NDSU and South Dakota State.

So we have:
Non-Conference Games (so no cupcakes to lose to this year?):
@UNI
@Utah
@Sac State

Big Sky Games:@MSU
@MSU
UM
@CP
ISU
NAU
@PSU
@WSU
UND

From the looks of it, we might not see Nottingham Field till week 6 against Montana (Oct. 6th). Kind of crazy.

Only 4 home games that can't be right unless we are playing Southern Colorado here as a 12th game?

Yeah, we have 1 open week for a home game but that would cause us to play 12 games without a week off.

We're on it in 2013 and 2014, not 2012. Folks here are mistaken.

That's the rumor, but I'm pretty sure it's just that, a rumor.

I hope we don't play CSU Pueble, we need to avoid the RMAC loses. Not good for moral, recruiting, donations, attendance, interest, etc. :thumbdown:
