2013-14 Recruits

I merged all the various recruit threads into this one. Based on one of the linked articles Katz has 1 scholarship left. Based on what is leaving, my guess is the coaches will be looking to add a forward. It sounds like the early signees have a lot of potential, and it’s good to see Katz land some high school talent.

The question I have is scholarship count. 5 seniors are leaving after this season (2012-13) but it looks like Katz only has 4 for use (2 HS recruits and 1 promised to Tiffin plus the last one left for use). Does this mean one of the graduating players is a walk on?

I've been tracking Nick Hornsby. So far his team is 10-0 and he is averaging 18 pts and 10 rebs a game. He's listed as a GF even though he's 6ft 6in. and he has made at least one three (up to five) in each game. Looks like he will pick up some of the scoring punch we lose next year.

So far Stuteville's brother thinks he's going to Kansas or Kentucky. I wish him luck. Rumor is that Sac has offered Case Rada from Walla Walla CC. He can light it up from beyond the arc. Six-two and 210 lbs.

BTW Nick Hornsby's team is playing in the D3AAA finals tonight in Anaheim. They are 29-2 so far and he is averaging 17 and 11. He scored 26 in the semis against Compton.

I like this group but I count 13 players if Estrada gets a medical redshirt for last year. Anyone know anything???? I dont know how many scholies they can give out.

I think the coaches had 4 scholarships to dole out this offseason. 1 went to Tiffin, 1 to Hornsby, 1 to Stuteville, and 1 to Rada. Then Carbs left and I think that opened up a scholarship for Mills. If Estrada returns from a medical redshirt, it is likely he will be a walk on. If Katz gives him a scholarship, then one of Rada or Mills will be a walk-on. Earle probably has a better scoop on this.
