Looks like we are playing Cal at Memorial Stadium in 2013:

Who wants a big helping of Portland State???

Sweet.

Even though we lost a couple of qb's down there last time, it was a great time. Looking forward to seeing their new, er refurbished, stadium.

Opportune time for a Viking upset considering the GBs will be breaking in a new head coach, a new scheme and system and it'll be only their second game of the season. If the Viks can quell the potential intimidation factor, PSU could, most conceivably pull a New Mexico or Hawai'i game out of the hat. If Viks are up to the challenge, Cal will be vulnerable. From the New Mexico game we read, "Our guys met the challenge," said Portland State coach Tim Walsh. "Our guys were up to the challenge of not dying, no matter what happened." Viks won 17-6.

I do! I do! Viks need to make a fashion statement worthy of the Pac-12.

Fashion statement indeed! My high school basketball coach made every player wear both knee-pads and elbow-pads so we had no excuse not to dive after loose balls. Ha! We we're walking dorks, but we did "get after it"! Our defense was stellar. Maybe our DBs need those lacrosse sticks!

UC Davis sets 2013 schedule:

"UC Davis' home opener will be against Portland State on Sept. 21, but the game will not count toward the Big Sky standings."

Nothing like west coast FCS scheduling.

Better an FCS team than a D-II, D-III or an NAIA cupcake for an easy win that does not count for the playoffs.

Davis again, on the road? I like the scheduling of a D-I team here, but we've been down to Davis 3 times in the last 4 years. Hopefully we can keep up our winning streak down there, but still . . .

It's out:

I think this is a great schedule. No long periods of not having a home game.

Wrong on both counts. We do have a long stretch, Sept 27-Oct 26.
And we have 5 homes versus 6 away.
I know Davis is a nonconference, but why are we playing them on the road two years in a row?

Your team can beat the Cal Bears, SUU should of last year we had them 21-10 , 3rd quarter couple of Special teams breakdowns that led to 14 , give away points and a collapse after that! If you guys play mistake free football it's a wrap! Of course when you come to Cedar city , I gotta go with the T-birds . you guys will be looking for payback but if we play up to our potential we should get you guys again , our defense will be much improved ,our whole secondary is coming back, plus our line backing core is more experienced . Offense is the question, look for a much improved running attack , we have our whole WR's core back our challenge will be the qb position ,You don't replace a Brad Sorenson but you also don't have to rely on one person so much . We have a JC transfer that should have enough to get the Nod and give us some stability .
