Houston Baptist is maybe a win just because they are a start up program... other than that Idaho State maybe if a miracle happens... :?

Houston Baptist is a FCS team in the Southland but they are a start up, this will only be their 2nd season I think.

The funny thing is their mascot is the Huskies. Don't really think of Houston as a huskie kind of city.

This isn't a horrible schedule. I like that we've got an FBS game and one that went to a bowl game, yet it's a game that I don't see us getting blown out in. Do we have a good amount of alumni in Nevada? It would be an easy game to travel to.

Pretty tough schedule in my opinion. Hopefully they can win more than 1 game next season but there aren't many, if any, easy wins on that schedule.

Never need an excuse to go to Vegas, but the game with UNLV is definitely a good one. I plan on being there.

I'm sure they will come in here and get a win though. I'm seeing 0-11 with schedule.

Yeah but Collins says we're going to win some games. That and he does things the "right way."

That picture of UNLV's stadium looks a bit dated. I think it is closer to this now.

They have done a nice job with that stadium. It used to look like a concrete dump in the desert. With the exception of Northern Iowa, I really like the stadiums we are traveling to next season. Though the red turf at EWU is horrific.

I'll take a crack at very early season predictions.

2014 Football Schedule
Sept. 6 at UNLV L I don't think we will get blown out though.
Sept. 13 Houston Baptist W We roll in this one, by 3 TD's.
Sept. 20 at Northern Iowa L I don't like this matchup.
Sept. 27 *at Montana L Tough place to get a road win.
Oct. 4 *Northern Arizona (Homecoming) W We beat NAU this time. They lose a lot of their very good secondary.
Oct. 11 *Sacramento State W I don't know why, but I finally think we will take Sac State.
Oct. 18 *at Eastern Washington L Eastern will be the conference champs again.
Oct. 25 *Idaho State W We seem to do well against ISU in Greeley.
Nov. 1 *at UC Davis W Should have beaten them last season.
Nov. 8 BYE Week
Nov. 15 *at Weber State W New, and inexperienced coaching staff in Ogden.
Nov. 22 *North Dakota W/L Toss-up. A game we should have won last season too.

In the end it will be enough to get Collins a new contract.

Without a doubt, we are going to be dramatically better than last season. I'm going to try to go to a few road games this season. Having never been to any of the other Big Sky stadiums, which ones are the best game day experience? I'm going to Vegas, and UNI for sure since its closer to home for me, but I also want to see some other Big Sky stadiums. Suggestions...

I haven't been there but I hear that Montana's Grizzly stadium provides one of the best game day experiences in the Big Sky. Weber State with their stadium right up against the mountains is a nice venue.

Beardown- I love your optimism of potentially seeing a 7 win season. I would be ecstatic with that kind of a turn around. I think the key will be whether this team has the leadership, resolve and fire to beat the weaker teams in the conference. If they don't we may see another season like last year. Personally, I will be happy if we can pick up 4 or 5 wins this next season. Even that may get Collins a new contract.
