2014 Schedule

There's a 2014 schedule thread started over on CS. I noticed Delaware has a couple of open dates, one of them being on Sep. 20th. Checking out our own "Future Schedules" thread, nothing has been reported in awhile and it looks like OOC so far consists of UW, Montana Western, and SHSU.

I hope we add a twelfth game and man would it be nice to get a home and home with another FCS power like Delaware... :nod:
 
I don't think we can schedule a 12th game next year (but might be wrong). The 20th is already taken by Montana Stat anyway. I think our schedule is locked down. . . unless UW wants to BUY US OUT :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

Yo, Brainy Smurf... we already have 12.

There is some talk about moving Sam Houston State to Aug. 23 pending a ruling from the NCAA. It would be really nice if we could find one of our conference teams to move into that Nov 15 date and move our bye week 3-4 weeks earlier.
 
BTW, if the first football weekend is in August, you get 12 games. If not, there are only 12 weekends from September to Thanksgiving, so you get 11 games with a bye week.

ESPN, to my knowledge, is still supporting having an "FCS weekend" that starts the week before the FBS. So, hopefully, every football season will start in August from now on.
 
I'm not sure we want to move a marque game like SHSU to Aug 23, fully an entire month before classes start. Comparatively speaking, the W. Oregon game was very poorly attended. I don't think classes will have started Sep 13, either, but it's much closer to the time where people start showing up back in town.

I hope this happens, but would be shocked if the FBS big boys allow it . . . since they have the can't be shown up by our little brothers can we attitude?? :thumbdown: :thumbdown:

If you want to be the only game in town (aka the Grizzly phenomenon), you've got to do things like play before everyone else does. I think it could do very well if marketed right. Besides, you've still got several thousand EWU students in the local area whether school is in session or not.

Eastern has historically drawn fairly well pre-fall classes. Part of our trouble this year was the quality of opponent.
 
You guys are forgetting about the first game in 2014. We'll be playing that one really early. Like January early. We'll be one the road for that one.

And that makes it another solidly tough OOC. Although getting Sam here who loses their fire power and a MSU without Kirk, Bleskin, Daly, and McGhee much easier.
