2015 BSC Tourney!

I know this is going to really suck to admit, but I'm beginning to think that Montana will be hosting the tournament.

Sac will probably lose 3 out of the next 5. Teams are figuring out how to beat them. Take either Garrity or Mckinney out of the game and you have a great chance of beating the Hornets. They have the toughest road to winning the Sky with 2 of their last 5 at home. Granted, they have SUU, PSU, and NAU on the road. I've got my fingers crossed for them, but it isn't looking good.

For whatever reason, I think Eastern will split the next three weeks and go .500. If they win 4 out of 6 they probably tie with Montana. In that scenario I think UM wins the hosting rights.

In all likelihood Montana wins 4 of the next 5. Yes, they also have 3 out of their last 5 on the road, but they don't really have to worry about travel to Eastern and Idaho, since both are fairly close to Missoula, and then they get MSU to end the season. This week ISU and our Weber State Wildcats. If Weber beats Montana on their floor then maybe Eastern ends up on top.
Hard to argue with some of this. We need to beat UND at home (would give us a perfect 8-0 BSC season at home) but I would be surprised if we can take 2 of our final 3. PSU will be tough, and NAU seems like the hottest team right now. Even at SUU is no easy task as they have been playing very tough lately. Definitely a brutal stretch to end the season.

Disagree about taking away either Garrity or McKinney and thinking that is enough. We have had various guys step up during this season (mainly due to our solid bench) and keying in on one guy won’t get it done. Montana thought they had Garrity put away and he ended up draining the game winning shot. My point is the Hornets are playing great team ball, and it takes a great team effort to knock us off. It’s been a very enjoyable season and I hope we can finish strong.

If UM and EWU tie (assuming they split the head to head) and we are third, then EWU gets 1st as EWU is 1-1 against us and UM is 0-1. It’s looking like UM will need to win outright in order to host. I’d love for us to win it all and host, my second choice would be for EWU to host.

Hope the "Well" has a better floor and seating that another well used activity center, that being the Rolle Center at NAU. When the Dome was being remodeled, the games were played there. I heard Coach Rahe say it was the single worst floor in the conference, slippery, no give and many dead spots.

Just sayin...

Big facility, but based on the BSC release it sounds like everything will be a temporary set up. So floor, bleachers, lights (?) will all be brought in.

If you had to choose today, who are you going to put your money on to host? I don't know all of the tie breaker scenarios. It looks to me like Montana stands a great chance of hosting. That would be quite the accomplishment for a first year coach.

My money is on both the Montana men and women to host, which will make for another interesting travel scenario for the entire conference.

Another loss, about 25 miles away, may turn out to be even more costly. And it came by a point, 77-76. Eastern Washington had a trio of opportunities to earn a win yesterday afternoon in a packed Reese Court but couldn't get it done down the stretch. And Montana may have just punched its ticket to the NCAA tournament. See, the Big Sky lets the regular season champion host the postseason tournament. And winning in Missoula with an NCAA berth on the line is sort of like dealing with a Sicilian in "The Princess Bride." All the Griz have to do to earn the home court is win in Bozeman next week – no easy feat despite the Bobcats' poor record – and hope Sacramento State loses on the road twice (fixed from earlier). If not, then the Big Sky will head to the Rec Center at Sac State and laughingstock status among the nation's basketball literati. But the tournament is more-than-likely not coming to Cheney. Which is too bad. A healthy Eastern team all season would have sliced through the Big Sky like a well-sharpened Wusthof knife. Injuries happen, though, and they probably cost EWU one or two losses. And made yesterday's full-strength defeat even more costly.

It’s a 5 year old facility with tons of space. I’m not sure how it will look (if we host) with everything set up, but my guess is it will look comparable to a lot of the bleacher seating layouts currently in use in the BSC…including whatever they have up there in Cheney.

Most of the vitriol about the Well is coming from people who don’t know what it is, or how it looks. If it wasn’t a suitable venue, the BSC would have never approved. I don’t think the BSC brass would have hesitated to disallow us the opportunity of hosting given a poor venue option.

One more win baby...just one more win...

I think one of the main concerns with temporary courts is dead spots and surface feel. The one thing that makes me feel a little better about the WELL is that the Kings will be helping with the set up.
