2015 Playoffs

The Big Sky Conference teams (SUU, PSU & UM) didn't make much noise in the FCS playoffs, with only Montana winning (@ home) in the 1st round, but then getting thumped by North Dakota State in a rematch 2nd round game. Perhaps Southern Utah could have won a tight game vs. Sam Houston if they were @ home in Cedar City, but they were robbed of a home game opportunity in the 1st round (partly because of their smaller football stadium, probably). Maybe next year will be some BSC chest pounding in FCS post season action. :-(

Is it wrong for me to kinda be glad Montana got curb stomped? With the incredibly raw deal SUU got it just seemed right to me, I'm not convinced the Griz beat the Jackrabbits in Brookings

5th straight FCS national championship for North Dakota St. (37-10 over Jacksonville St). Would love to see WSU Wildcats get them on the non-conference schedule again sometime soon. :coffee:

Big Sky commissioner wants to re-tool FCS playoff selection process

The bad thing is it's like every level of college sports it's all about who you are and what the name of your University is, unfortunately it doesn't matter what you do in the regular season, just take the 2008 season for example, Weber got the conference's automatic bid to the playoffs (hence them being the #1 seed out of the BSC) Yet Montana gets the seed and a home game against a team that beat them by 17 earlier that year, all because of money, even if Weber had beaten Eastern Washington, the best that would have done is maybe give us a first round home game, we still would have traveled to Missoula in round 2.

The other bad thing about the FCS playoffs is that when Big Sky teams are placed in the bracket they usually have to play each other in the first two rounds pretty much eliminating the Big Sky out of the playoff bracket almost immediately. The Big Sky teams that make the playoffs need to be more spread out.
