Word on campus. Some LB have quit the team due to injury. :wall: HC will have to adjust and use resources to compensate.

I mentioned this in a thread a few months ago and this was the response I got

Gonna hijack this thread and toss this out there for consideration. A list of non-seniors from last year's roster that are not currently listed on this upcoming year's roster:

Mike Cisneros OT
Gabe Davis WR
Marquel Holmes LB
Luke King LB
Blake O'Neill P
Obi Owoh LB
Adam Padilla CB
Tyler Parson WR
Pio Stowers LB
Roman Valenzuela LB

First, Blake did transfer or is intending to. That kinda sucks. But Weber does have Josh. Probably need a back up kicker.

Obi, Tyler, Luke, Adam, and Roman are all graduating. I think Luke would like to play, but his body just can't take it anymore.

Pio...mission?

Gabe, Mike, and Marquel see the writing on the wall and know they won't be playing much in the future. Great kids and I hope they each find a situation that fits them.

Out with the old, in with the new. This years recruiting class will need to make up the difference in the coming years.

How did the team look during the first Spring workouts??

Roster changes

No longer on the roster:
DL, Dakota Jenkins-Baty
TE, Xavier Talyor

New to the roster:
LB, Caleb Jackson (So.)
WR, Cole Payne (Fr.)
TE, Tui Satuala (So.)
OT, Blake Schiess (Fr.)
OG, Connor Shannon (Jr.)
QB, Justin Shaw (Fr.)
DL, Filipe Sitake (Fr.)
OL, Calvin Steyn (Jr.)

Good to see several of the new signing class, including freshman, participating at spring practice

Has anyone heard how the team is progressing through spring? I really wish that there was some type of coverage or report after every couple of practices. Once I retire from being a waterboy I shall attend practices and scrimmages and report on them. Since the local fishwrap sure as hell ain't covering the team more than once every 10 days. :twocents:

Jay Hill approves the same o, good o boys to cover the teams process. No critical analysis, just the same "Yes men!" Everything cant be perfect Jay. I heard the same attributes last year and the team still suffered. Give the fans some info. Who are the new players on the fields? How are they adapting? Are there any up and coming recruits, walk ons or leads?

Before spring ball he was frustrated with the inconsistency at the QB spot. Everything isn't perfect, but I like where the program is headed.

I was pretty shocked by the # of reps Leckington got in the first scrimmage. To me, a casual observer, I would say that Leckington is the front man and Clark is the second stringer. Billy has fallen to third, maybe even 4th after Bradshaw.

As for the rest of what is going on. Weber suffered last year because if was the first year of a multi-year process of becoming a competitive and winning program. I think they the Cats, took a great step forward. Weber was competitive in every game last season. That team was 4 or 5 turnovers away from being a .500 team.

From what your say is, the Offense is J Hill's focus and motivation. Hope he finds the right combination at QB.

As far as last year D, I saw much more than just suffering. The defense was slow and confused at where they were suppose to be. Sure they had some good plays but few play makers on D "Team was 4 or 5 turnovers away from being a .500 team". Defense is the key to the game! Is this springs defense showing consistancy? Anyone to look forward too? Any standouts?? Last year all I heard was Hill pump his new linebacker recruit up. I wasn't impressed.

I don't think Green sees the field very well. He may do well as a backup, but hopefully someone will really come to the front of the pack.

And that's a shame, because I thought Green looked really good at the beginning of last season.

I agree, last season Green appear poised and confident. Didn't make too many mistake in the first couple of games. Im sure JH is still trying all the QB out.

And this is the time (spring) to do it. Just commenting: I just saw the video on SE per Spencer Unga. From what I see. He needs alot of work. He's strong but very slow for this level of the game. In the report, it talks about JH positioning him at running back. I think fullback is a better position for him but runningback?? I don't see it.

Defense still needs work. The players are inconsistant and always out of position. They need to read and react. There not doing it!!
