Binding Contracts

This is a great article in the Spokesman review. I have been talking about the need for players to have to sign a two year contract and if they leave the institution to where they are going needs to buy out that contract. Just like coaches leaving while under contract. Schools invest time in development, training facilities, free education, and so on.

It needs to change.

The education isn't free, schools make a ton of money off these kids. A lot of these kids are busting their ass from early morning to late evening between practice, training and classes, probably more than a full time job, he shouldn't make it seem like they're getting handouts.

It wouldn't work, they'd just go to schools where they don't have to sign a contract. Recruiting is already ridiculously competitive anyway, coaches aren't gonna tell recruits "oh, btw, sign this contract"
