2016/17 UNC Bears

I just looked at the Bears roster and noticed Jeremy Verhagen isn't on it. Anyone know what is up? I also see Anthony Johnson is redshirting. Is he hurt or taking a year off due to sanctions?

It will certainly be a different look for the Bears. Good luck tonight as the season tips!!!

I believe Verhagen graduated but earlier story reported that Linder gave Johnson & Morgan a choice to redshirt or not! Both not playing is a huge loss. This is going to be an interesting year for sure. They will surely miss Johnson's & Morgans experience and scoring. I hope this team survives.

Recent GT article:

No 2017 postseason. Johnson and Morgan opted to redshirt while Spicht is a transfer from Arizona State and won’t be eligible until next season. Chad Glotta transfer from Southern Illinois University.

Apparently we have a Redebaugh and a Rickenbaugh (wonder if they're related):

Redenbaugh, a 6-foot-2 redshirt freshman walk-on from Northglenn....

Rickenbaugh will take on his assignment every single time,” Linder added.

Actually, both Redenbaugh and Rickenbaugh are references to guard Jonah Radebaugh, Sam Mustari just can't spell. Also, Radebaugh had a double-double last night against CCU with 10 points and 11 rebounds.

The redshirts are great news, and shows Linder already knows what he's doing. The fact that he gave the kids a choice is even better. I would have said "you're both redshirting or transferring. This year will be a joke, you and I know it. Let's get these kids a bunch of playing time, recruit a few studs and go kill it next year." Clearly, they all bought in to a similar message. Love this hire so far.

Looking forward to watching the Bears play at Oklahoma on TV tonight from Maryland. :thumb:

Actually after watching them play Arizona & Oklahoma, this team is not too bad and seem to be getting better. They hung with both teams and the Oklahoma game was closer than the score. We just ran out of gas in the last 5 minutes. Go Bears

Agreed.

Bodes well for the future.

Up next state rivals CSU and DU....

halftime CSU 34- UNC 33

would've been CSU 34-30 but with seconds left, CSU turned it over then fouled Glotta shooting a 3 on the other end and he sunk all 3

Watched the DU game it was pretty sad... DU will be a bottom Summit team and that was a winnable game but you can just see this team is OK but about good enough to lose all the close games...

This year is a write off.
