2016 ROOT Sports

This is the 1st practice I did pay attention to. Weather was nice, had I did check out the Offense, Defense, and Tight Ends. Coach Best put his offense through some tough workouts, they looked very strong. When put against the Defense, both OF/DF worked their butts off. We have 4 Tight Ends, #9 Zach Wimberly, #85 Henderson Belk, # 95 Beau Byus, and #96 Jayce Gilder. They are very big, and Outstanding Hands. Our CB/DB/LB are all working very hard, and is coming into their own. There were some hitting today, no injuries, but I know the ones getting hit felt what was dished out. I was very much impressed with what I saw. Thursday is another practice, and I know come Saturday, there will be more hitting, and I think we will have an Outstanding Scrimmage. Hope to see many of you there. Go Eagles!!!!! Vic Wallace

Eagledawg,
Hope you enjoyed watching the Team getting ready for the Season. It was nice seeing you and the Wife at Roos Field Saturday 04/16/16. The Attendances are getting little larger each Scrimmage. Let us hope next week Saturday, the Red and White Game bring out a very big crowd. Vic Wallace

Hi Vic! Enjoyed our time in Cheney as usual. It was nice to meet you and your lovely Daughter last Saturday.
Spent the afternoon walking river park square(I think that's the correct name) with our Daughter and her Cousin (he's also a student) and rode the gondola over the river! Love Spokane, its nice there is so much open space preserved in the downtown area. Its not like downtown Seattle, that place is HORRIBLE!!!! The only time I go there is when I take my Dad there for a doctors appointment, no parking and traffic is a nightmare! People like to bash it but Tacoma has a nice downtown with parking good places to eat, walkways along the waterfront but I still think Spokane has it beat.
Enjoy the Spring game and look forward to seeing you in the fall and take care!

ewueagle2010,
I appreciate your kind words. I just hate to see or hear some people attempting to run our programs down. If we all love this Program, we should make the positive comments along with the negative comments. I know how much we have been waiting for something to happen with the "Gateway Project". I know how people feel about the program, and the Stadium lacking of a lot of things. Maybe one day it will come, my only concern "am I and others in my age bracket, will be around to see ground breaking". Like you have said, let us hope something comes this week. This is "Eagle Week" (RED AND WHITE) Go Eagles!!!!!Vic Wallace

I'm with you Vic. I'll believe it when I see it. It would be great to have the upgrades, but I have embraced the coolness of Woodward/Roos for decades and I ain't about to stop now. It's still a great place to watch a game with an amazing view, outstanding tailgating, kickass video and audio, and an ever-growing student section and fan base. It's WAY better than it was just 5 years ago. Have some patience and enjoy the ride.

I hope everyone who is bitching is donating to the EAF. You can spread out the payments monthly now and it's an EFT. Very easy and everyone should be doing it...even if it's just a few sheckles.

I was recently in Tacoma for the first time in several years. It's really amazing what they've done with the place.

Eagledawg,
Each time I go past River Park Square , down town, I think of you and the family how you stated how much you love going there. There are some constructions going on there now, they got some money to do some things at the Park. That is on my way to my residence, and it is always busy when I go over the bridge by the Clock Tower. The team is looking good. I am so impressed with the Recruits, they are going to fill in vey well. Most of them have been here all summer, they worked the FB Camps. I think some of them will be starting as Freshman, R/Backs especially, of course that is the Coach job to decide, I am just giving my opinion. Team is practicing Mondays and Wednesdays doing their 7 on 7. We have some Great Athletes, and some of them are starting to put on some extra muscles from the Weight Room. Campus have a lot of constructions going on, new water pipes are being placed around Reece Court Handy Cap Area, the Parking lot, etc. The Big Water Tank behind Press Box/Suites and being sand blasted, probably going to get painted soon. Additional Handy Cap Spaces are being installed for FB Games. Take Care. Vic Wallace

Hi Vic! Thanks for the update! My Nephew who is playing JC football says the RB from De La Sal is very good and I have a hunch he might see some playing time. My Nephews High school team 2 years ago had the QB who is at N. Arizona and last years QB got a scholarship to Cal. Those high schools in Ca. are huge, his school has an enrollment of about 2500 but they have 60 schools with over 3,ooo.
I often think about Malcom Williams the freshman RB who had to leave for medical reasons and hope he is doing well! Take care!

Eagledawg,
Glad to hear of your Nephew Playing JC Football. I met one of our Recruits from De La Sal, RB Antione Custer Jr. he is going to be a real addition to our team. I met him, he came up to my truck and said I will remember this truck, it is so clean:) I didn't tell him I had just gotten back from the car wash. Tamarick Pierce, are another RB that will be ready to go when the season starts. I met him, his mom and sister during the last Red White Scrimmage. His sister was here visiting from Arizona State. Got the word that Jason Talley must work on his grades, hope he is ready when he arrives. I met all of our Recruits, 5 didn't come in for Camps. They will all be in by Aug 3rd, if I am correct. Have a great weekend. Vic Wallace
