Not sure if I totally agree with our reported attendance numbers once again. My main reasons are obvious, but when I was going through the North entrance, some of the scanners were not working and there was a lady with piece of carboard doing tally marks when the scanner failed to work. I also heard people saying, “why did we buy tickets, we can just walk right in.” Hey Brett, can we get the “actual” attendance numbers please?

Scanner only worked on one of my two tickets. They waved us through. Small sample size, but maybe we should double the numbers :stir: .

The real question here is, Which crowd seemed larger in person?

The 6,876 reported Playoff game? Or the 8,455 reported for our home opener?

To me the Playoff game had more fans, the edges of the east side stands were emptier this last Saturday and I felt the west side was about the same.

Weber really needs to get a system in place to accurately count attendance figures at Weber State, including COUNTING THE STUDENTS. This isn't rocket science Weber.

I was a bit disappointed in our attendance on Saturday. I know that there was a lot of competition for butts in seats that day, and we had laid an egg in Flagstaff, but it may well have been the biggest regular season game. I'm hoping to see more this week. :coffee:

I've been disappointed in our attendance all season. Coming off our historically best season ever and with all the hype during the offseason and we have yet to manage a crowd over 9,000 this year. This includes our home opener. It bother's the crap out of me when schools like Idaho State and SUU can get crowds of 10,000 + but Weber cannot. We have a 17,500 seat Stadium, and there is no reason we shouldn't be able to average 12,000+ a game.

I, like you Olds hope that more fans show up next Saturday when Weber takes on one of our oldest rivals. It's supposed to be warmer next weekend so aside from the opening Deer season there are no excuses to not show up.

What competition? Wasn't a holiday or conference weekend, Utah played the night before, and BYU played late.

I love defensive football but more fans are attracted to an offensive show and is most certainly not Weber's strength. I wouldn't blame all the lacking interest on that but I'd wager a bet it's a big part of it.

All 3 of my kids have gone to Weber, all 3 have wanted much more social interaction there and have only had a minimal interest in attending games because of the overall lack of student support and energy. After a couple years, one of my boys wanted more out of his college experience and transferred to another in-state school. Even though my daughter has attended her share of Weber games, she would just as soon drive to Utah State and attend a game with friends enrolled there. Student interest and support has improved slightly in recent years but between them and the community there is just not enough excitement to be attractive and contagious.

Which is ironic, considering that in our three home games, our student crowds have actually been quite large and active throughout the whole game. That tells me that student support and energy are actually better this year than in any recent season. I sat on the west side of the stadium for only the 2nd time in my life and I could hear the students quite well, they were loud and jumping up and down all game.

I agree that the student attendance has been better this year, and that is encouraging. However, much, much more needs to be done with student involvement with all on campus activities, athletics among them. It is about the only way to maximise the grooming of future donors. To neglect the Students is to neglect the future of the University.

WILDCAT thanks for the cumulative totals through the year. I always stop in get an easy update.
Nice weather and proximity to Bozeman should get you over 9k this week I would think.

However, we do have hunting(rifle) season starting in Montana.

Thanks KWCAT.

Like always im sure there will be a good number of Bobcat faithful that will show up. It's the Weber fans im concerned about. Usually when it gets colder, "fair weather" fans stop coming. With the game being on tv and the rifle deer hunt starting this weekend here in Utah as well. I don't expect to see many butts in the seats, but im hopeful I'll be wrong
