2019 Preseason Big Sky Polls & All Conference Teams

Preseason polls are always just for conversation as much as anything but the information released to day is head scratching for sure. Eastern was picked #1 in both the coach’s And media polls, but only had one preseason all conference player. On the other hand, Weber St was picked 3rd in both polls but have 6 all conference players.

saw only 1 on the all conference team....unreal!

I'm okay with this. Keeps egos in check and keeps our guys playing with a chip. Leaving Blackburn off the list is a big-time mistake though. Eag diehards know that at the end of the season a huge chunk of our squad will deserve 1st Team honors.

Here is one article with the votes and rankings. Funny stuff about the single Eag BigSky pre season player, EVERY other team in the conference would love to have the embarrassment of riches and depth Eastern has at every position. I feel like there are 11 All-BigSky players lining up on both sides of the ball every play, no matter the number on their jersey... :lol:

I don't care about preseason awards or projections. We have a very solid with team with incredible depth and experience. Only one Eagle O-linemen on the preseason first team! What a joke!! Let's see who goes the furthest in the FCS playoffs.
 
The EWU Eagles were picked to win the conference title but only ONE Eag makes the Preseason All-Big Sky Team!?? EB3 didn’t make the cut over a twice injured Case Cookus? And how the hell does Jake Maier get the preseason MVP after getting beat TWICE in one season at the hands of EB3?

What sense does any of that make?
 
Out center made the FCS Stats All American Team but he is not good enough to make the First Team All Big Sky Team. Where is the Big Sky Conference based out of? Oh yeah Odgon, UT (Home of Five Preseason First Team Big Sky Picks) ................ Any bias? Maybe?? I am an old Eagle and we still get zero respect from the conference. Time to settle things on the field!!!! :thumb:
