South Salem Guard Commits to Portland State:

http://www.statesmanjournal.com/story/sports/high-school/2018/01/31/south-salem-guard-commits-portland-state/1082145001/

South Salem guard Jaden Nielsen-Skinner has committed to Portland State.
Nielsen-Skinner, a 5-foot-11 junior, was a first team all-Greater Valley Conference selection last season after averaging 18.7 points per game.
He's been even better this season, averaging 22.3 points, 3.7 assists and 1.2 steals for the Saxons (11-7, 7-4 GVC), who are are in fourth place in the league following Tuesday’s 74-73 victory over West Salem. The top four teams automatically qualify for the 6A state playoffs.
“I wanted to stay close to home and he’s a good coach,” Nielsen-Skinner said of first-year Portland State coach Barret Peery. “I thought it was a good fit.”
Nielsen-Skinner will be able to sign a National Letter of Intent in November.
PSU, a member of the Big Sky Conference, plays an up-tempo style. The Vikings led then-No. 1 Duke at halftime in the PK80 Invitational in Portland on Nov. 23 before falling 99-81.
“I think style of play is what most stood out to me,” Nielsen-Skinner said.
A three-year starter for South Salem, Nielsen-Skinner helped lead the Saxons to a third-place finish in the 2016 OSAA 6A state tournament.
He’ll be a freshman at PSU for the 2019-20 season and will be reunited with West Salem senior guard Kyle Greeley, who signed with the Vikings in November. Nielsen-Skinner and Greeley have been teammates on AAU teams.
“It should be fun,” Nielsen-Skinner said.

Hauser didn't play last year for Santa Clara due to a "chronic foot injury".
