2022 Playoffs - 2nd Round: #2 Sac State vs #13 Richmond

Physicality is obviously a relative term and completely subjective but I’m fairly sure the Hornets have been hardened during the season by a level of physical play this weeks opponent has not seen. If the doubts/concerns about stopping our running game are even close to accurate they are going to have a long day. I’m also willing to bet this is the best set of receivers that they have seen. Bottom line…I think the betting line is about right…Hornets by three touchdowns.

Wow, Nelson is listed as DB 1….

I wouldn't put much stock in that. I recall Fulch remaining on the 2 deep when he missed time earlier in the season.

I’ve got the hornets winning 41-31. If we can get that Round 2 monkey off our backs, anything is possible. Frankly UR scares me more than UIW or Furman.

Yeah, I remember that too. Maybe it’s gamesmanship, maybe it was a tweak that healed over past two weeks. Next man up if need be!

The Spiders podcast on the game.

The Stingersup podcast was much better than the Spiders podcast, I loved the choice to have Sam Herder on there.

Does it really benefit us fans to know 2 deep?
Gamesmanship, pure and simple.

It would be a shame if this was posted on ejizz.

Richmond fan here. Your rushing attack will give the Spiders trouble. When teams run, they tend to run it down our throats. Our Dline has struggled in stopping the run. Our secondary is not as stout as in years past. Our offense came from VMI, we poached their offensive coordinator and their best players. Reece Udinski is a high caliber QB, who is very good. Our best receiver, Jacob Herres, also came from VMI. We can score, but I am not sure we can stop your offense.

The FCS is great. Here are two schools, from capital cities in opposite sides of the country, playing in a football championship game on a Saturday afternoon. These schools would never play each other.

We are glad the BSC was well represented in this year's bracket. You have the premier FCS conference. The MVFC and their schools are hopefully on the decline.

Feel free to visit us at spidernation.com.

Welcome, think it will be a good game. We have stuff you haven't seen and you have stuff we haven't seen. With the projected weather, it will probably boil down to a predominately run oriented game. I like that we can play teams we otherwise might not have scheduled.
Been to you campus a few times, I live in North Carolina, it is a nice setting. Too bad the neighborhood nearby wouldn't let you build a bigger stadium.
Ha. Funny you should mention our stadium. It is a point of derision by our rivals. It seats 8,500 and we still can't fill it. We are told that our school is not large enough. Our undergraduate student body is about 3,000. We are told they study too hard. Lies Lies. The truth- they are entirely too hung over to wake up and make it to a game at 2 PM.

You guys have a Natty. Tell your rivals to fvck off. :twocents:

The flight aware data showed the UR plane on the ground for nearly 2 hours before take off, and it took forever to get to sac with the weather systems and jet stream working against it. They probably didn’t get to their hotel room until 2 or 3 their time. Ouch.

I am shocked we are this heavy of a favorite…

16.5 points is a lot, but it's going to rain all day tomorrow so that will give us the advantage on the ground. Too bad the weather will chase away any chance at a good crowd, was hoping we'd have another 15k+ turnout, won't happen now.

A lot of pressure on the Hornets to finally get a playoff win and actually make some noise in the post season. If the Hornets go about this game like they would any other game and stick to what go us here then we should be in good shape.
