2022 Playoffs - Quarterfinals: #2 Sac State vs #7 Incarnate Word

Kadeezy…why don’t you walk into the Hornet locker room and tell those players they are a fraud?

Why would I ever do that? I’m a sports fan, not an a$$hole with a deathwish. Surely you understand fandom in some capacity?

It was deja vu all over again at that point, and our play was aligning with our reputation as playoff “frauds” on the national stage. Luckily, things turned around and the guys never gave up. I lost my voice, scared the dog, wife and kids for the whole game, then celebrated with a cigar.

I guess you’re just better than everyone else. :notworthy:

I feel ya, brother. That was among the most stressful and anxiety-ridden Hornets games I can recall.

Hope your dog, wife and kids are recovering well. ;)

Not better Kadeezy…just not a coward that says stupid s#it about the players and coaches and needs to hide behind his keyboard to do it.

That freaking game wore me out, by the end I almost felt like I'D been playing! (Although I was a lot drier than those on the field.)

We needed to get that 2nd Round win so badly. Anything else past the quarterfinals at this point is gravy in my opinion.

I would love to keep my VRBO in Frisco for at least another week.

This game will be a shootout. If we can get pressure on UIW QB often and we can pound the rock too! Then we should be in good shape. First time in history I believe that our team was still playing football in DECEMBER! Merry Christmas to all Hornet Fans.

SDgenius...I call someone out for calling the Hornet football team a fraud and I'm a bully? I actually posted that I was wrong about my evaluation of the Richmond team. You post stupid isht on this site all the time and never come back around to admit you were wrong. I've never post one thing one this site that I wouldn't say to someone in person. If you ever want to quit hiding your cowardly ass behind that keyboard and call me a dumbass to my face just let me know and we'll set something up. No excuses, just reach out.

Oh noes more veiled threats of violence from big man over here.

BTW if you knew how to read, you'd know I admit I make wrong pick/calls all the time.

PS: Stop DMing me, I'm married.

Other than that, the reveal of Devin Gandy is complete as he’s on the two deep now. Love to see him back healthy for four games in 2022! And he keeps his eligibility…. Then little bro joins next season.

Forgot to touch on Gandy in the Richmond thread but yeah that is a nice weapon to add this time of year.

Looks like the rain may hold off until Saturday. The unpredictability of a wet ball always seems to level the playing field. In a game where I thing we’re the better team, I’d like to see us have a real chance and having the full Taylor playbook open.

It's going to be raining all weekend and with wind. Should be absolutely miserable conditions for this game.

The hourly forecast last weekend was damn accurate, we should have one for Friday’s kickoff time in the next 6 hours or so…

This game certainly has shootout potential and agree with you on the running game. This season has been an amazing ride.

I can’t make this week’s game, but someone please start the “Light the Beam Green!” Chant on my behalf if we have this thing won!

Weather bug says 51 Degrees and cloudy at kickoff, dropping to 47 degrees and cloudy by 10PM, with less than 20% chance of rain. I’ll take that if it holds!

I was planning a thoughtful post today on some things I’d like to see from the o-line with the shakeup. But I’m only allowed to post sophomoric attacks apparently

Please still do - leaving Skat in on left side to mitigate the UIW speed rush, especially if the Stiefel Tower is a no go?

I would like to see more play action right out of the gate against playoff pumped defensive fronts….

Yeah, after inquiring about him all season long it was a super nice surprise to see him on the field last Saturday. The 1st time he touched the ball it was a really big play.

The Hornets have a plethora of good receivers, but having Gandy out there with Pierre Williams, Jared Gipson and Marshel Martin can really put the defense in a bind.

Was there ever any official word on what kept him out all season? One big difference between following an FCS program versus a P5 is the communication of key injuries/absences.

Not official, but I believe there was an ACL tear sometime in January.
