If Rashada was showing out in practice, we'd have seen him on the field. Hard hit or not, he never showed out here or anywhere else for that matter. That's why he ended up with the Hornets in the first place.

Many of us that deeply follow HS football here in NorCal were skeptical over the recruiting hype surrounding Rashada. Like a lot of kids, he was mostly recruited based upon measurables and potential. Because his on-field play never warranted 4 or 5 star status.
 
Good luck to him, I don’t know what kind of jump. He’s hoping to make in the portal, but if it’s a step up, I don’t know if he is going to find greener pastures.
 
If its going to be Troy Taylor, this is great for the current Sac players as Taylor won't be bringing 30 transfers with him.
So, I'm not understanding the quick defections, unless the guys know its going to be someone who is currently coaching (?).....Or Marion/FBS was the only factor keeping them around in the first place.
 
It's too early to doom over the portal announcements. First of all, there is always roster movement. 2nd of all, the playmakers are going to get looks from programs offering bigger bags. The players that had good seasons should absolutely consider their options and would be doing so even if we weren't in the middle of a coaching change.

No way to tell how this will all shake out until a coach is named.
 
I'm more worried about the recruiting decommittals, as whoever takes the reigns will have that much more work to fill spots. The portal isn't a done deal until people actually commit somewhere else. I've heard reports of people in recent years hitting the portal and then stepping out of it at the same school, whether it be because they found no interest elsewhere or they really like the guy Sac hires. If these guys actually bother to read their history books, if we do get Taylor, I think we'll see people stepping out of the portal in droves if they haven't already committed elsewhere....
