2025-26 MBB Season

Fitting end to horrible season. Six D1 wins and 0-17 on the road. Last good season was the 16 win 2019-20 season that was shut down by Covid. After two Covid impacted seasons Orr and Nelson decided to go a different direction and only one season with double digit D1 wins and none without any Katz recruits on the roster. If the associate head coach at Idaho was coaching the Hornets we would have fared better. Certainly could not have been worse. Let’s hope Bibby and Shaq can make a difference next season.

For all the big names it was another ho-hum year. Disappointing to say the least. Now that O’Neal graduated why does pops even care?

Still on about Laird after all these years? Lol. If he were as good a coach/recruiter as you claim, he would have landed a D1 HC gig by now. He's a solid #2 guy but nothing more.

I agree with your roster assessment. I think Mikey will get a bigger payday to go elsewhere. Team play improved after Gardner left with an injury and I agree with you on Teat. It'll be interesting to see what Bibby can do with a full offseason.

Patrick was a bad hire and Bibby only got the job because Wood is trying to make a splash. Rumor is we paid $500k to $1mil on this years roster. Not sure what the real number is but we just got smoked by a team paying zero NIL money. Would take a solid #2 as our head coach over what we have had the last four years.

That solid #2 had a shot as the HC and fell on his face. Not really much more to say about it other than that. I wished it would have worked out, but he's just not HC material. You should move on already. Knock the Bibby move all you want but we've never had more interest and revenue flowing into MBB than this season. I've always said it was a gimmick hire but I'm liking the trajectory of our program. We'll see where it goes from here.

And no serious hoops program is paying $0 NIL dollars. Times have changed, that's just not how this works anymore.

A fair shot would have been if he was given another year after a strong finish to a year severely impacted by Covid. The results the last four years show that he should have been but that is water under the bridge now. Not interested in a gimmick program. Our trajectory was not a great one this year. If we are a serious program paying NIL money we lost to a lot of teams not paying any this year. Let’s hope we can make a change to the trajectory next year.
