The Hornets open their 15th season under Head Coach Reggie Christiansen this Friday at John Smith Field. The Hornets have a 56 game schedule that features 19 of the first 28 games at home.

The Hornets were picked 5th in the WAC Preseason Coaches poll with first baseman JP Smith and pitcher Kade Brown earning preseason all-WAC team selections.

The Hornets return about half of their lineup from a season ago, including 3 of their top 5 batters. On the mound, the Hornets return starting pitchers Evan Gibbons and Tyler Stewart with standout reliever Kade Brown coming out of the bullpen.

In Reggie we trust. Stingers Up!

The Hornets (2-2) split the opening 4 game home and home series with USF (2-2). The Hornet bats look good early but there are a lot of questions marks in the starting rotation and bullpen. Lots of youth on the Hornet roster.

Hornets host Ball State (there's a joke in there somewhere) for a 4 game series this weekend. Ball State is 2-1 with wins over Towson (1-2) and Maryland (2-1) in their opening weekend.

The Hornets (4-4) split the Ball Sac Series with Ball State (4-3) this past weekend. Every game was decided by 2 runs or less.

The Hornets host the South Dakota State Jackrabbits (0-4) who come to the John for a 4 game series that starts Wednesday. The Jackrabbits had their season opening series cancelled and head to Sacramento after dropping a 4 game series down the road at Pacific.

Hornets (7-5) take 3 of 4 from South Dakota State (1-7). Hornets had a chance for the sweep today with some late game heroics but came up short. Hornet bats had a strong series against a weak opponent but the young Hornet bullpen continued to struggle.

The Hornets have a 2 for 1 with Pacific (7-4) next weekend and roll into a home game against Nevada (6-5) and then a road game at Fresno State (4-6) for some early weekday games to conclude 6 straight days of baseball.
