Regarding the WBB portal departures, Falk is the only notable loss. I thought she could have performed better down the final stretch of the season but she contributed a fair amount. Too bad she doesn't want to stick around. Butcher was a hustle player off the bench and a decent spot shooter but the athleticism is lacking. Alonso was hurt most of the season and probably would have been a decent player if she stayed healthy. I wasn't expecting anything from Amoore and Haw is only notable because of her height.

Kiir Kiir was one of Patrick’s worst recruits. No basketball skills. Guessing we will see almost a total roster change with the new coach. We will throw a lot at the wall and hope to get lucky. Unfortunately hope is not a strategy.

Agreed, total project player. We had lots of these types of guys eating up roster spots before DP was brought on. We'll probably see similar reaches with Bibby.

The difference before DP is we had young players who were coached up, we saw improvement, and they contributed. I am afraid in the new NIL/ transfer world, and with inexperienced coaches, we will not see much of that. Not expecting much from Bibby. We have been out coached the last three years. Very little in season player development/improvement and in game adjustments.

We've been outcoached the last 4 years but I agree with your sentiment. Katz/Laird always seemed to throw some roster spots away on players who could possibly be good if they got healthy (Dancer/Barros), unfortunately it didn't pan out. DP/Czep were no different with project players. With 15 roster spots there are always going to be some players who just never see the court in a meaningful way. I don't think that changes with Bibby or anyone else that could have been hired.

One of the first things Bibby said in one of his first interviews after getting the job was he envisioned this being like Deon where celebrities will be coming out. Not really the first thing I want to hear from a newly hired coach. If that is his primary skill and tactics then this experiment will fail. As far as a celebrity he is not Deon. But I guess now maybe we can see Shaq at one of the games. Now if he can convince Peja’s kid to transfer from Cal we might be on to something.
