2025 Offseason Portal Tracker

Well, I think at this point one would have to assume that there is NIL money that has come to fruition. Besides the obvious new addition of Rashada making the QB room the most interesting position battle pending any Conklin news. The RB room is almost unexplainable as to how many carries everyone is competing for, especially the latest transfer. The #1 RB from UNR is dropping down for his senior year to compete against an FCS All American, a power 4 contributor/PT starter, a former 4 star from UW, and another FBS transfer from CSU.

Carson committed early on in this process to stay and be our QB. If he went into the portal, he was going to get many FBS offers.

Now for that commitment he wakes up today as our backup QB and the portal window is closed.

I think we have a top 30 running back room in all of college football. The issue? Only one ball.

Wild.

Yeah, this is a total, "you better know exactly what you have" move to make by Marion. I think Conklin is a great QB, and I think he'll succeed in Fresno. But the facts are, he was not well-suited for the Go Go Offense.

Marion wants all players in the backfield to be a threat to score on the ground every play; that's not Carson's strong suit. Small sample size, but CC looked out of place in this offense during the Spring Game. This move was a done deal as soon as Rashada signed.

Marion is staking everything on Rashada and Williams. If Rashada plays ANWHERE near the first round NFL talent he was scouted to be two years ago, it will be worth it.

I agree. We are going to be a revolving door of players. Hard to get excited for that
Welcome to the new college football world. Since we are becoming thug nation and the first CSU-HBCU, Conklin didn’t fit the narrative. Hope he does well.

Not sure I am such a pro Marion individual anymore, dudes never been a college HC. He better light the world on fire next year.

All that proves to me is that we have a HC who cannot adjust to his personnel. Not a good sign.

We also have 6 RBs who would start in the Big Sky. How do you get that figured out.

I don't know man.... If you give most people the choice of an FCS Frosh AA and Jalen Rashada, most will pick the 5-star with monumental potential.

As far as the RB room, I assume that will sort itself out. Guys that get injured or aren't engaged won't play, and 2-3 guys will be in the backfield every play. I will not be surprised to see Jamar Curtis playing out of the slot either...

You have to take the 5 🌟 qb if you have the opportunity. If Ryder Lyons committed here and Conklin left as a result, I don't think there would be outrage.

But Ryder didn't accept. Marion got the star QB from his home town instead. Give Marion a few years and the locals from Sacramento will start coming, as well as the 4 star recruits with no baggage.
