The rumor I heard is the same that OSH mentioned. SAC admin were allegedly in Cleveland for a Sunday meeting with MAC officials. The source is credible, but they were also clear that there was nothing imminent, or guaranteed by this visit. "Information gathering."

The schedule I put together above is just taking what NIU's '26 opponents were going to be before they left for the MWC.

This would be incredible in my opinion. Invitation from MAC to FBS jump into scheduling in 26. 🙏🏻💯

Then we need to WIN and be consistent.

It might be something even better, because Dr. Wood said on December 9, “We are still confident we will be FBS next year, and I know something that people don’t. The wait is because we have an even better FBS opportunity.”

Of all the issues to be concerned about with our current situation, the '26 schedule is the least of them IMO.
There is really nothing to worry about. Wood has said he wanted Carter for stability—six to eight years. Sounds like he could be here a while. While success on the field matters, ultimately, it is about developing student-athletes.

Still exploring Cal Expo, and will come to a decision “quick.” So, we will know something soon, and we can be happy that they will play on campus in 2026.

And, Dr. Wood said recently, that he is confident we will be FBS next year due to “an even FBS opportunity.”

No worries, be happy.

Not what I said but you do you. I'm not sweating a 12 game schedule for '26. I don't expect it to be an FBS schedule (whatever that means) but we'll have a schedule. If it ends up being a full D-1 slate with at least 5 home games then it'll be a win for the program.
