2026 Football Schedule Thread

BHF, agreed. Availability will drive the guarantee games this year and next. The next critical step is the stadium and everything will fall apart if something can't get built. One step at a time.

Yep, everything hinges on a real stadium. If they cant get something built its a slow five year burn. If they want to be in PAC or MWC they will also have to address an arena too.
 
Would Golden1 not be the arena option if we were in a larger conference? I understand that it is bigger than we need, but it's ready made. Fresno State can't fill the Savemart Center, so not filling G1C should not be the concern.

I would think G1C to be a fallback option for basketball, if they can’t get their own events center built on campus. The Kings have already stated that they’d be open to working something out with the university.

But a long term, on-campus solution has to be option #1.

Would really love for the NDSU game to be after Zo has had a chance to get himself situated and his lineups set. Winning that game would end a lot of this internet trolling nonsense.

Lots of smoke that this game is already set for week 0. I don't know if home or away.

Yes and no - some teams play week 0 even without scheduling Hawaii. But when you do schedule Hawaii, you immediately get the week 0 option and the ability to schedule a 13th game to recoup costs of travel. I wonder if we will take advantage of that for a money road game?

One of the teams needs to be playing @ Hawaii in order to play Week Zero. So, if you are going to play NDSU, you didn't need to play @ Hawaii since they are already doing that in MWC play. If does give you the option to play 13 games though. Or if you are playing some other opponent in Week Zero.

I've been one to give him due credit for the progress no one before him had been able to accomplish. And he definitely does deserve kudos for it.

However, there are still very important sets to win. And if he isn't able to deliver on all these other fronts it will make what's been delivered to this point in time moot.

They can't fall on their face for most of their time in the MAC. That means it's important for the coaching hire to work out. And they need to be able to schedule $$$ games against P4 programs to help pay for everything. They need to get a new facility built relatively soon.

If any of the above fails to materialize, we may be the next CSU to fold their football program.

We're all-in and nobody yet knows whether we're winning the hand or going bust.
