27 seniors how the heck does that happen?

I was stunned when watching a game earlier this year (think it was on Root) they mentiond that Eastern had 10 of the 11 starters were seniors and and something like 9 of the 11 on defense were seniors and Eastern had 27 seniors total. How the heck does that happen? I've never heard of a senior class that big! Not at a power 5 school, fcs school or any NCAA school. I'm expecially surprised at a FCS school with fewer scholorships! Next year there is going to be a heavy turn over. We seem to be in a cycle because when we played the ducks a few years back I remember the enitire starting offensive line and the next two backups were seniors and the next year when we beat the cougs it was with an all new O line. I just hope we can work our way out of this cycle.

One of the ways we get 27 seniors is it is the combination of 4, 5 and 6 year seniors. It can be a little scary thinking about what we will lose next year, but it also says a lot about the program recruiting guys that stay with the team all the way through graduation. I think this shows that EWU recruited true student athletes that stick with the program.

A relatively low attrition rate for this class as sompres to others also may have something to do with it.
