#3 EWU at #10 Montana Game Thread

i believe raynes was hurt very early in the game but dont know the extent of the injury.

Did Allen Brown and/or Miles Weatherroy even play? By the end of the game, I never saw either of those guys in. I didn't pay attention to whether they started or not.

Our safety play was getting pretty dubious at the end of the game.

We held the Griz to 3.2 ypc and 140 yards total on the ground, their season avg. before the game was 5.2 ypc and 214 ypg. I'm sure the big lead helped in that regard, but in the first half they were running quite a bit.

Can anyone comment of the safeties? #32 Bruce played most of the game, and I don't know if Raynes, Brown, or Weatheroy played at all. Did we suddenly get beat up at that position? For all the things Idaho State does poorly, one thing they do well is test the safeties.

Allen Brown started. Raynes, Brown, and Weatheroy all played.

57 is costing us points with stupid penalties!

That second penalty was BS
Watched it live yesterday and on TV today. What Root doesn't show or even discuss is that 57 was the one laying on the ground getting kicked in the ribs by the Griz O-lineman that got flagged. He may have been just a little fired up about that... He shoulda been smarter but cut him some slack. He played his ass off yesterday.

Totally agree, but you know Montana buys those calls every time... you can't give them a reason, because they are looking for one.

Plus, that first "roughing the passer" was outright absurd. Zylstra put his hands on Johnson's back and that little piece of shit flopped like a Goddamn Brazilian soccer player. I was waiting for their trainers to come out with the coldspray and the stretcher to cart his pansy ass off the field.

Also, did anyone else notice the beating our DL laid on their OL yesterday? Had our DB play been a little better, that game would have been a wipeout. Their OL got manhandled, and that was without Katoa.

You've got it all wrong ... Saint Jordy is classy, Adams is gangsta, Zylstra is a thug and the whole EWU team plays dirty!

Agreed. I was worried about how our DL would perform this game. I thought Montana would take advantage of our defense through our DL. I was completely incorrect. Our DL played great. There was good penetration every single play.

DL used to be one of the top of my list of 2014 recruiting needs. Depending on how they play against MSU, I could stand corrected in that area as well.

No, no, no. According to the couple at the top of the Southwest section, we are cheaters.

Raynes pulled a hamstring on a 3rd qtr kick off and is likely done for the season. I think Brown also had a hamstring issue, so we were pretty light at safety, expecially when we went to the nickle or dime.

oh man, that sucks. good luck to him in his recovery. we all of a sudden just got really thin at safety. with tonani and raynes out for the year and brown apparently banged up i couldnt even tell you who is on the depth chart behind them.
